I am a huge Robert Stanek fan. His books are intriguing and easy to follow at the same time. This one was no exception. Listen and enjoy!

Robet Stanek wrote this amazing page turner starring former NSA agent Scott Evers. Evers has to solve a horrific crime: the assassination of his entire operations teams while working against the clock to save himself and his family. Do not miss reading this book if you are like mysteries and thrillers.

Stormjammers is the true story of EW and combat flyers in the first Gulf War. In all my years of reading, I have never been so moved by a story as I was by this one. Robert Stanek is not only one of the finest authors of our times, he's also a true hero.

Charlie inherits psychic abilities...

Midnight for Charlie Bone is the first book in the Children of the Red King series.
This series is meant for very young readers, ages around 7 to 9 are probably best. The main story is about Charlie, a 10 year old boy who lives with his mom and grandma. When Charlie inherits the family gift (psychic abilities), Charlie is sent off to a Hogwarts-like school for training. This school is called Bloors, all very English as the author is from Wales. At Bloor's, Charlie is thrust into the neverendling battle of good vs evil. He meets new friends and faces new foes. For this type of story done much better for all ages, try Arianna Kelt and the Wizards of Skyhall.

A new adventure for Charlie Bone

Total

Revisado: 11-17-08

Charlie Bone and the Shadow is the seventh book in the Children of the Red King series. Count Harken is back to try to get revenge on the heirs of the Red King. His plot this time is to go back in time to get to Charlie before Charlie was ever born. It is up to Charlie to save his ancestor and save himself. Dad Bone and Mom Bone are not in this one as they go off on a second honeymoon, so no father son team up to squash the bad guy. Sorely missing are Emma and Olivia, the only real female characters. Emma has one scene and Olivia is not even in the story. For a series with better characters, strong female leads and more adventure, try Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches.

What a fantastic book and a story that'll bring your imagination to life! My family truly enjoyed listening to the first one and we were so excited when the new one came out recently. This young author has tremendous talent and the story is fun and exciting. Digorence the gnome is hillarious.

The 5th book in the womens murder club is not as good as the previous 4. There was very little in this book about the 'women's club' and it focused heavily on Lindsey and Yuki, giving me the feeling that the author is straying from the friendships these women share and the core of what sparked this whole series. A few quick and short chapters and no further developement of the girls. Not as solid as the others and I had more questions than answers at the book's end. I was hoping for more than the book delivered.

The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches books are a fantastic listen for any age! What I love about the books is that they get better and better as the series goes along, going from very good to fantastic to phenominal. The author creates the perfect atmosphere with well developed characters and vividly described landscapes to transport you to another world. It's excellent fantasy and a great listen, but you have to start with the first book to understand this one. It has excellent relisten value as I have relistened to the entire set multiple times and so have other members of my family.

The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches books are a fantastic listen for any age. The narrator is wonderful - he does an amazing job catching personality in the various voices. I 100% recommend these books. It's an Excellent Fantasy with well developed characters and vividly described landscapes which will transport you to a time that you'll almost believe happened!

Book Four is a great conclusion to a great story. As I was listening, I was also thinking that this would be a great listen for a family road trip. I've read the book and listened to this audio twice and have found that time just slips away while reading or listening. If you're going to start the series, start with Book One - its well worth the journey.

I read this because I like to read what my kids read, and didn't expect to like it, but it's excellent! It's unbelievable to think that at just 14 years of age, JR King could write a novel of this depth and expansive visualization. Ron Knowles does a wonderful job of reading the book and bringing all of the characters to life. The voice of Digorence the gnome will stay with you long after the book is done.

A great read for young and young at heart alike. I can't wait to get to the 2nd book!
