So not worth the time. Did not finish first book and I am not starting the second one. This vision of teenage girls that think can change an abusive guy through sex is unrealistic and unhealthy. If I could give story no starts, I would.

Perfecto para los que les gustan las batallitas

Aunque siempre me ha gustado Reverte (he leído casi todo lo que ha escrito), este libro no me ha enganchado, me ha costado mucho terminarlo. Me ha recordado mucho al Pintor de Batallas o Territorio Comanche, que no son mis favoritos.

Not an action book, not a romance. Not sure what this was

Quite boring until the three last chapters where there is some action, but not even then. It is naive, silly and has no substance. Last thing I read from this author.

Not as interesting as previous series

I have listened to all of Grumely’s book series avidly but I have to say this one is not as interesting as the others. I waited to listen to both books together and I could barely finish the first one. For me, the plot was weak. Not much happens and the characters are not very interesting. I listened to both books in the series, but I am not going to buy a third one if there are more.

Beautiful language and strange strange content

I dislike books that don’t have an ending. It is the job of the author to resolve a story. The language is poetic and evocative and the book is an interesting insight into Korean culture and mental health. But I personally did not enjoy it. I will try another one of her books and see.

Learned a lot about that historical period

Most of us know about the occupancy of France during the World War II, but not so much about the this time in Italy. The story of the two very different protagonists and their lives in that complicated time is an excellent way you can learn about the history of the country. Truly enjoyable!

Twists and turns until the end

The plot keeps you guessing and takes you in many directions. When you think you know what is happening, some surprise comes up that forces you to give up your theories. Very entertaining. It starts a bit slow, and as a professor, some of the content about Simon’s application for promotion is not very accurate, but that will be undetectable for most people. I enjoyed the end very much and at the same time, it made me anxious and I wanted to reach the end; not something that happens to me often.

Not much plot or story

The book is just a romance novel. There is not much plot other than a love story that could have been 15 chapters shorter. It also lacks the language of the victorian era that would have made it more credible. It took me a long time to finish it because I found it quite boring.

Interesting story with some romance

The voice narrating Helena was annoying. You cannot listen to every sentence with a high intonation. I passed over several of those parts. The novel still made sense but a lot less enjoyable. If this was the voice in the short preview, I would have never bought it.
The story is interesting but it has some holes that make no sense, even if we consider the historical moments, women’s financial and social situation, etc.

Good ending for the series
