Loved this!
Revisado: 03-27-13
What did you love best about The Tea Party Goes to Washington?
Wow...so much! Rand understands what the Tea Party is about, and knows how to explain it to an outsider (me). He also understands what America is about and what the silent majority of American's want for this country.
Any additional comments?
I bought this right after Rand's drone filibuster. I wanted to hear more about what he thinks and feels about America and about what's currently going on in our country. Of course, some of the information is "old", as this book was released a couple years ago. However, it still seems very relevant, in things haven't really changed much, other than to get worse.
If you want to know more about Rand; why the Tea Party is the "laughing stock" of both parties and the media; and to be uplifted by knowing that SOMEbody in Washington finally understand us, then this is the book for you!

Historia
Lazarus occupies a surprising position in the Gospel accounts. Widely known as the man Jesus raised from the dead, his story is actually much broader and richer than that. Living as he did at Bethany, near Jerusalem, Lazarus was uniquely placed to witness the swirl of events around Jesus. When Jesus Wept, the first novel in The Jerusalem Chronicles series by best-selling authors Bodie and Brock Thoene, unfolds the turbulent times in Judea during Jesus' ministry, centering on the friendship between Jesus and Lazarus.

Don't read the New Testament before listening...
Revisado: 03-27-13
Would you try another book from Bodie Thoene and Brock Thoene and/or D. J. Canaday?
I read several of their books back in the early 90s and loved them. This was pretty bad, though. No, I won't try another.
Do you think When Jesus Wept needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No. Unless their going to just write out another book from the Bible. In that case, save your money and read the Bible.
Any additional comments?
This was a very odd combination. Over half of it was almost word-for-word out of the new testament; a third was the writers worldly view of heaven; and less than a quarter was about the relationship between Lazarus and Jesus.
I think the greatest disappointment was when Jesus called Lazarus to "Come forth!" It wasn't said forcefully, like I always imagined Jesus to have said it. It was just spoken as any other words. Nothing spectacular. Nothing special. "Come forth."
Yay. The same amount of excitement and anticipation you feel in that word is the same as you'll feel when you hear Jesus' words. Give this one a pass.

Historia
Somewhat a controversial topic nowadays the issue of gun control has become increasingly prevalent as more and more incidences of children using guns have come to the fore. As such the book Say No To Guns: Why Gun Control Will Solve Our Problems is well timed as it addresses some of the main issues. It delves right into the current situation in the United States and also compares it to the United Kingdom.

Very good information
Revisado: 03-21-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes and no. The book was very good at showing both sides of the story, but the narration was pretty difficult to get past at times.
What didn’t you like about Jen Dempsey’s performance?
At times she sounded like a realllllly bubbly news anchor; other times like a very bored airline stewardess. Her style did not match the topic.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. If I had stopped listening, I don't know that I ever would've gotten started again.
Any additional comments?
I bought this book for an English Comp assignment, and to get a crash-course into the gun control argument. The author did an excellent job of showing both sides of the argument; although at times I did not agree with the argument.
I will definitely use the knowledge I gained.

A Prayer for Owen Meany

Historia
Of all of John Irving's books, this is the one that lends itself best to audio. In print, Owen Meany's dialogue is set in capital letters; for this production, Irving himself selected Joe Barrett to deliver Meany's difficult voice as intended. In the summer of 1953, two 11-year-old boys – best friends – are playing in a Little League baseball game in Gravesend, New Hampshire. One of the boys hits a foul ball that kills the other boy's mother. The boy who hits the ball doesn't believe in accidents; Owen Meany believes he is God's instrument. What happens to Owen after that 1953 foul ball is extraordinary and terrifying.

Best Narration yet!
Revisado: 01-02-13
What did you love best about A Prayer for Owen Meany?
I loved Owen Meany, of course. I loved his matter-of-factness; his views on life. BUT, the thing I loved MOST was the narration by Joe Barrett. If I had been *reading* this book, I would have given up at least a couple times. And frankly, I DID give up a couple times, even with listening to it. But the number one thing that brought me back each time was the narration. He did such a wonderful job with all the different characters; there was never a doubt who was speaking at any given time. I will definitely be looking for more books read by Mr Barrett.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
There was a lot of fluff. A lot of stuff that didn't matter to the story.
Which scene was your favorite?
Wow...so many to pick from. I don't think I'll list any, as I don't want to ruin it. But, in general, I found most of the first half of the first section quite amusing. My humor runs a little "odd"...so I found a good portion of it rather funny.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Would you listen to 11-22-63 again? Why?
NO. It's WAY too long, and Stephen King goes off on too many tangents. I fast forwarded through half of part 4 just to get it OVER with and hear how it ended.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Take out all the "fluff". I don't enjoy abridged versions, but in this case, I think it would be beneficial,
What about Craig Wasson’s performance did you like?
I reallllly enjoyed Craig Wasson's voices and how you could tell the different characters apart. It's unfortunate that he seems to mostly read for Stephen King, because I won't be listening to another of his (Stephen King's) books.
Any additional comments?
I attempted to read this book, and only got 1/4 of the way before I lost interest. But I thought if I LISTENED to it, it'd make a difference. It did, a little bit. But I still lost interest. The "twists and turns" of the plot weren't interesting enough to keep me engaged.
