Historia
In an illuminating analysis, Dr. Genevieve Guenther shows that the climate debate is not, in fact, neatly polarized, with Republicans obstructing climate action and Democrats advancing climate solutions. Partisans on the right and the left often repeat the same fossil-fuel talking points, and this repetition produces a centrist consensus upholding the status quo, even as global heating accelerates. Weaving this analysis through fascinating critical histories of the terms that dominate the language of climate politics Dr. Guenther shows how this consensus is established.

Great to explain the what,, who, where, and how of this massive problem our civilization will have to deal with. Gives good background into some of the political decisions being made, and doesn’t hold back on any particular party for their short coming’s.

Historia
This near-future trilogy is the first chance for English-speaking listeners to experience this multiple-award-winning phenomenon from Cixin Liu, China's most beloved science fiction author. In The Dark Forest, Earth is reeling from the revelation of a coming alien invasion - in just four centuries' time. The aliens' human collaborators may have been defeated, but the presence of the sophons, the subatomic particles that allow Trisolaris instant access to all human information, means that Earth's defense plans are totally exposed to the enemy.

Great listen after I watched the first season.
Revisado: 05-05-24
I was told the book was a good bit different than the TV show, and better, so I had to listen, as I try to always listen or read the book first before watching a movie or series.
The book was great just like the show, but I would try to read this first, as I found myself actually
preferring the show more because it was more up to date science, but this book as typical goes into oil more details that I think pair great… so in other words reading this is a MUST! I really enjoyed.

Historia
World renowned scientist Carl Sagan and acclaimed author Ann Druyan have written a Roots for the human species, a lucid and riveting account of how humans got to be the way we are. It shows with humor and drama that many of our key traits - self-awareness, technology, family ties, submission to authority, hatred for those a little different from ourselves, reason, and ethics - are rooted in the deep past, and illuminated by our kinship with other animals.

Not entirely what I expected, but I loved the book! Deep understanding into biology, primates, humans, and then ties into our psychology both past and present. I learned something’s even with some of this information being old, and even more updated today.

Historia
Bill Gates shares what he's learned in more than a decade of studying climate change and investing in innovations to address the problems, and sets out a vision for how the world can build the tools it needs to get to zero greenhouse gas emissions. Bill Gates explains why he cares so deeply about climate change and what makes him optimistic that the world can avoid the most dire effects of the climate crisis. Gates says, "We can work on a local, national, and global level to build the technologies, businesses, and industries to avoid the worst impacts of climate change."

Good middle of the road thought out detailed analysis from Bill.
Revisado: 01-30-24
This is around book number 20 for me reading about Climate change. What I like is Bill gives details to why he is stating his thoughts on how to fix our issue. He doesn’t just say we need to do this because of this, he breaks down the plan so it is easy to understand, and the root cause for his thoughts as you would expect an engineer to.
Bill makes it clear this is based on his research which he gives, he has already been wrong on some assumptions, but his assumptions were based on good data at the time. Everyone cannot predict all future technologies and their development timeline and ability. Bill also challenges some plans that are more mainstream for solutions.

The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

Revisado: 03-31-23
I was told about this story form a co-worker, and that doesn’t always work out, but this story was really good. A good story that keeps me wanting to listen at every chance. The speed, and way of sharing the details was well done, and has me hoping to find out more of the Silos in the series. Give it a shot and I think you will like it. It’s also got an Apple TV series coming in May! I’d try to read it first!

Historia
It seems like every time a new mother turns on her computer, radio, or television she is greeted with news of yet another scientific study about infancy. Ignoring good information isn't the right course, but just how does one tell the difference between solid studies, preliminary results, and snake oil? In this friendly guide through the science of infancy, Science of Mom blogger and PhD scientist Alice Callahan explains how nonscientist mothers can learn the difference between hype and evidence.

I have been waiting for a new good futurist book based on science. This book is that, and informative of the latest (as of writing) technology that gives insight into what the future will hold. This is a must read book especially for the sci-fi nerds.

Bestselling author Dan Pfeiffer dissects how the Right Wing built a massive, billionaire funded disinformation machine powerful enough to bend reality and nearly steal the 2020 election. Good book into some background info I did not know
Revisado: 08-12-22
This is a book that is clearly from a US political side of the argument. One that I think lately has been hidden or less talked about. It also helps give ideas on how to help push truth, and facts against many conspiratorial people. I’ve read many books from all sides of the spectrum, I would put this somewhere just slight left to center if we are talking about todays US standards. Overall. Give it a read. Learn something!
