Historia
For Detective Sam Porter, the words "Father, forgive me" conjure memories long forgotten; a past intentionally buried. For Anson Bishop, these three words connect a childhood to the present as he unleashes a truth concealed for decades. Found written on cardboard near each body, these words link multiple victims to a single killer - discovered within minutes of each other in both Chicago and South Carolina - clearly connected yet separated by impossible miles.

Wow! Just Wow!
Revisado: 04-14-25
This entire trilogy of books is a mind $%^^%%$%^!! Some parts I guessed before the end I spent the vast majority of the story arc with no firm grasp on what was real and what was deception by one or more of the narrators. It is rare that I can't figure out at least most of the Who-Done-It part of a story before it is over. But I have to admit I was guessing to the end on this one. My biggest complaint about the story is that the ending is too much like real life: All the loose ends are not tied up in a pretty bow (be it of black string or not). It's a dark story but it is very well-written and the characters are very real in a very fundamental way.

Historia
Christmas is the single biggest annual event on the planet, a time for merry-making, over-indulgence, peace, goodwill, and the occasional family row. It’s as comfortable and familiar as a pair of old shoes and yet still glittery and exciting. But what do you really know about it? It’s stuffed full of traditions and rituals that most of us have been observing all our lives without having the slightest idea of where they come from.

Isn't It Wonderful?
Revisado: 01-03-25
Isn't it wonderful that a holiday of magic and cheer for children and children at heart was basically invented as it is by the combined fantasies and dreams of two people (Irving and Dickens) who never actually experienced the kind of Christmas they inspired with their imaginations!? On reflection, that might also be seen as tragic but, in the spirit of the holiday, I choose to see it as a happy accident. This book was informative and interesting. It was also thoroughly enjoyable and a great nod to the spirit and history of Christmas.
