Historia
Eating Trees is a rags-to-riches-to-rags story of an ordinary working guy who suddenly has an extraordinary idea. Nick Cerelli has always been "big-boned," as he and his family refer to their tendency to put on weight. He works hard as a laborer but never seems to get ahead until he makes an observation one day while working on a construction job: Fine sawdust feels like flour. "See, my big idea was to make some kinda diet Twinkie outta sawdust. Really. And why not?

Hilarious!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Oh definitely... This was sooooo fun to listen to... All my friends at one time or another... have dreamed of making it big... Have been on some kind of diet... Have fallen in love with Italians and their food... Have run across a character like this...
What other book might you compare Eating Trees to and why?
Is there a book version of "My Cousin Vinny"? I mean... it's just like that! If you liked that movie with that little Italian mob guy as the lawyer... you're gonna love this.
Have you listened to any of A. T. Al Benelli’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. I'm a fan and follower of his. I would put this up as one of his BEST... if not THE BEST! I see it won an Earphones Award...
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It has to be at the end when he argues his case with the other lawyer... Only Italians have that kind of "logical" thinking. I laughed out loud...
Any additional comments?
Other than the occasional 'cuss words" this would make a great family movie. As it is I wouldn't give it to young kids... but for teens on up? Hell Yeah. Fuhggeddaboudit!

A cute story... No Godfather... but good anyway!
Revisado: 02-06-17
What did you love best about Dinner with the Don?
The bumbling "Wise Guys" who manage to screw everything up. It was like the Mafia answer to Abbott & Costello
What was one of the most memorable moments of Dinner with the Don?
When he discovers "Walt", the street clown, is the long-lost brother of the Don
Have you listened to any of Al Benelli’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've heard nearly all of Al's narrations. I'm a fan of his stuff. This is somewhere in the middle. Not his best but not as bad as some caustic reviewers would have you believe. Remember, a narrators work needs to be approved by the author, so if something sounds misplaced to you... apparently the author didn't think so.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I'm not sure... but I did anyway... On a flight back from Rome... That's what audiobooks do best!

I loved it!
Revisado: 06-21-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Time Portal to be better than the print version?
I never read the print edition but the reviews on Amazon for the print edition influenced my decision to buy this.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed how the chief character, Lucky dealt with the corrupt government official who was trying to have him killed.
What about Al Benelli’s performance did you like?
I loved that there were so many distinct and unique voices. It was like listening to a cast of characters. I know someone else said that in their review, but it is very true.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and no. I knew it was more than 12 hours long but I truly found myself wanting to move quickly to the next chapter. I did however put it down a few times.
Any additional comments?
My first "time travel" book. Surely not my last. I'll be looking for Book 2 in the series.
