Your book brought tears of happiness to my eyes. Upon entering the US in 2001, I was broke, had no credit, and no driver's license. I couldn’t rent an apartment for my children.
It was the lowest point of my life. I recognized the real estate opportunity and fully committed myself. I worked tirelessly for three years and eventually made my first million by investing in real estate, all while raising my two children on my own without speaking a word of English. Your Mustang story deeply resonates with me. Prior to 2008, I believed I was too intelligent. I owned multiple properties and a gas station. However, after 2008, I experienced financial ruin and owed millions to bankers and my family. I spent a decade beating myself up and refusing to accept my dire situation. I foolishly believed I was too cool for school for conventional employment that pays a standard wage. I was always chasing quick money and being distracted by shiny objects. In the early 2000s, I was aware of the pandemic's beginnings. I started shorting the stock market, initially earning a significant amount of money, but ultimately losing it all in my relentless pursuit of fast riches. You called me out on my behavior. While listening to Jt Foxx's podcast, I stumbled upon your interview. I am currently engrossed in your audiobook and every word you utter deeply affects my core, my heart, my pride, and my sanity. I now acknowledge that I was masking my ego and placing blame on others, the market, and myself. Today, I am starting from scratch and actively seeking genuine employment.
