I have listened to this book by myself and also with my kids, and we have all enjoyed it. My four year old has even asked me to turn it on. The narrator did a great job.

Historia
The ultimate cure that could heal any disease? Crazy. That's exactly what research scientist Marian Creighton has always believed about her father's quest, even if it does stem from a desire to save her sister Ellen from the genetic disease that stole their mother from them. But when her father falls into a coma after drinking a vial of holy water believed to contain traces of residue from the Tree of Life, Marian must question all of her assumptions. He's left behind tantalizing clues that suggest he's crossed back in time.

Historia
Written in the winter of 1849, The Scarlet Letter unfolds the story of Hester Prynne, a young woman branded as an adulteress in the harsh Puritan world of 17th-century New England. As Hester calls on her inner strength to transcend her shame, the scarlet letter ceases to be a stigma and finally becomes Hester's symbol of self-affirmation. This dramatic reading heightens the sense of lyric poetry that permeates every line of Nathaniel Hawthorne's great novel.

I enjoyed this audiobook
Revisado: 05-31-23
I read this book back in high school so I thought I’d give it a listen. The book details say abridged; the image says unabridged. So I’m not sure which it actually is, but considering it was a short listen, im thinking it was abridged. I enjoyed it, though. I wanted to know more about Hester and hope someone in the years since has taken on writing another book based off this one that gives more insight into Hester. {Or, I just need to read the unabridged…im not certain}. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Revisado: 05-30-23
Michelle Dykman isn’t a well-known author yet, but she should be! I loved this second chance romance, with a bit of action/suspense thrown in. It wasn’t an incredibly long book - I actually finished the audio in one day - but it packed a bunch in, in a great way. Highly recommend!

Dee Henderson is one of the earliest Christian fiction authors I remember reading - the O’Malleys. But honestly I haven’t read anything by her since then…I don’t know why. As expected, this book didn’t disappoint! Great narrator and great story.

Historia
More teens are turning away from the faith than ever before: It is estimated that 75 to 88 percent of Christian teens walk away from Christianity by the end of their freshman year of college. Something must be done. Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, antifamily society. Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multigenerational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes, shows that God has not left us alone in raising godly children.

Definitely a re-read kind of book
Revisado: 05-25-23
I didn’t necessarily agree with every point made in the book, but do you ever agree 100% with every book you read?! There were a lot of good reminders in this book, including ideas like loving God yourself is the most important because children pick up on hypocrisy, or, making time for God is important because if YOU don’t make God a priority then neither will your children. I will be recommending my husband read this book as well and even though I don’t agree with everything 100%, I still think it would be worthwhile to read time and again to keep his points for Christian living in mind {it’s so easy to get busy with life and forget so reminders are good!} and I think also reading in print for easier note taking/highlighting.

Historia
Among our greatest fears is the dread of what others would think of us "if they only knew" - the parts of our past we hope to forget, the parts of our present we work to conceal. Yet the part we actually do the best job of hiding is not the unsightly debris of our own mess, but rather the stunning beauty of God's grace. The fear that demands we protect this false image at all costs leads us to unwittingly declare a false gospel at every turn. Jamie Ivey finally grew tired of doing that, tired of being too ashamed and insecure to let others see the full extent of what God was capable of doing with our unworthiness. So she quit hiding.

Inspiring and encouraging read
Revisado: 03-27-23
I believe I downloaded this to my Audible to read through Audible Plus. It’s my first Jamie Ivey read, and I enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a deep theological read, this isn’t your book. But if you’re looking for an honest and relatable read, along with an author who is sarcastic and funny and reads as though she’s having a conversation with you over coffee, then this is the book for you. The tidbits of advice that Jamie provided in this book won’t be anything new for someone who is grounded in their faith, and yet it is never bad to have reminders so whether you’re a new Christian or have been following Christ for years, I believe you will still find this book valuable, and definitely relatable. I really did feel as though Jamie and I were sitting down having coffee as she shared her thoughts and that made her words that much more encouraging.
