A gripping story that thanks to current events has been made completely antiquated. Just goes to show that sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. But regardless of how incompetently bad Russia is, and the fact that Assad's Syria is gone, there are still adversaries out there for WW3 authors to overhype so that America can have a credible struggle for survival.

I almost returned this one.. (Edit: I returned it)

Just getting the bad stuff out of the way, I used the "Skip ;30" button way more then I ever have with any other books. The constant tangents and waffling seriously had me going for the refund button. But I stuck it out to the end and while the setting is dark and interesting the concept has been done to death, The characters are mostly military cliches or fantasy cliches but I ended up liking some of them.

I give it a 5/10

I hope the next instalments are an improvement.

What we have here in Empire's of Bronze is a story that revolves around the ancient Hittite empire of bronze age Anatolia and revolves around the life of the Hittite prince Hattusili III (Hattu) as he comes of age in this violent and uncertain time. Enemies assail the Hittite empire on all sides even from within. And the very stability of the world cracks as we near the Collapse of the bronze age.

Solid characters with believable goals against the backdrop of a world on the brink of catastrophe makes for good coming of age story with plenty of war, intrigue, romance and suspense. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves history and action adventures all together.

pretty good it was an enjoyable listen

the part where seth sends death company marines after the inquisitor that tricked him into killing his brothers

yes, it's a fairly short story so binging is a possibility
