Great performance

The readers all did a great job and the story was good. It was not what I was expecting but I honestly don’t have much Dracula knowledge outside of the Castelvenia franchise. This was good a good read. It was a little slow at parts but I liked the journal entry style is was written in.

The story was great

Overall this was a good book. I think my favorite in the Wax and Wane series so far. I have been comparing it to its predecessor and I don’t think it’s fair to do that. These books take place on the same planet but are completely different. Understanding that has allowed me to enjoy the book and story much more. There is some great character development with Wayne, Staris (?), and Meracy (?), which was really nice to see and the overall group dynamic has only gotten better. This was a great addition to the Wax and Wayne saga and I look forward to the next one.

What an ending to a trilogy. This was an amazing story from start to end. I can’t wait to continue with the Waxer and Waine series especially since it takes place in this same world.

I was asked how this series compares to the Stormlight series and while they have similarities and common struggles that the protagonists have to overcome, Brandon Sanderson has such a way of world building and writing his stories and characters that it feels completely different in a good way.

It was a good book though in usual Branden Sanderson style it is a slow burn. The story is interesting through out the book and the characters are compelling and likable. It takes a long time to tell a good story.

Hard to get submerged in the story

I loved the book in general. It was a very good story. I do disagree with the narrator. It was incredibly hard listening to a story set in India yet has an American dialect. In one statement it was pointed out that even though she lived in America for 12 years she does not have an American accent. If they make a statement like that you would expect to hear a person read with a native dialect..

One voice

This is a pretty good book for this type of series. I have enjoyed the story line. My problem is the narrator because when she is reading the different character’s’ chapters she uses the same voice for everyone which happens to be the voice she uses for the main character. I think this series is best read in book form.
