Loved this billionaire with a heart of gold!
Revisado: 02-10-25
Worth Huntington could easily be considered every romance lover’s dream man. He’s a handsome billionaire with a heart of gold who is also the kindest, wisest, most dependable man in New York. He isn’t really the type to get married on a whim, but the minute he meets Sophia Jones the attraction runs deep. She’s beautiful, smart, funny, and he can’t get her out of his mind. When they head to Las Vegas for the wedding of their best friends, they end up in a chapel themselves. He may have made her his bride, but he soon finds out that she is a bit wounded and guarding her heart.
I loved the honest and real approach that Louise Bay took in Sophia’s journey. She has some soul searching to do, and it happens in an authentic way. Worth has the best of best friends who come alongside him in a humorous and genuine way of their own. This group of engaging and unique friends captured my heart from the beginning of this series and haven’t let go. You are certain to fall in love with them, too!
Worth and Sophia’s love story is made all the more enjoyable by experiencing it in audio. Samantha Brentmoor is amazing as Sophia. She brings out her passion for this man and her hesitancy about love. We feel her wounded heart. Grayson Owens gives a perfect portrayal of Worth as this calm, steady man who is everything for everyone. The earnestness and intensity of his feelings for Sophia is palpable. It’s such a wonderful listen!

Hoilday Rom-Com Perfection!
Revisado: 10-28-24
The Very Holiday series is my favorite series from any author, and I’m so excited to have these books all together in one box set. While each story centers around a different holiday, they’re each so much fun that you’ll want to listen all year long. They have the swooniest men and the most relatable women. They’re filled with witty banter, nonstop swoons, next level steam, and tender moments all mixed with memorable side characters, occasional fart jokes, and fun pop culture references.
The series begins with A Very Bossy Christmas, which remains one of my most favorite books. We meet grumpy lawyer Declan Cannavale and his smart, sassy assistant Maddie as they navigate not only the busy Christmas season, but their undeniable attraction to each other. It’s steamy, bantery, and so heartfelt. You’ll fall head over heels for this story!
In A Very Friendly Valentine’s Day, you’re certain to fall for Declan’s brother Eddie too (another hot Cannavale man with a big heart and a great butt), and his sweet, nerdy best friend Birdie, who he wishes was so much more. Their train ride together sets things in motion and is the scene for a heart melting Romeo monologue that you will want to listen to over and over again. Their love story is funny, amazingly tender, and so sweet!
A Very Vegas St. Patrick’s Day is the last book in the set but the first book in the series that is co-written with Connor. His writing perfectly compliments Kayley’s in every way, and he clearly has a gift for writing a scorching hot love scene. Nolan Cassidy is Declan and Eddie’s handsome, swoony Irish cousin, and his chemistry with Cora is off the charts. When he says, “Our souls have traveled the world and found home,” I was close to melting right on the spot. It’s romantic comedy perfection with an Irish twist and some hilarious, Vegas-y fun mixed in.
All of the laughter, swoons and tenderhearted moments from these fantastic love stories are made even more amazing in the audio versions. The acting by Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright is incredible. They give stellar performances as the main characters and a whole host of unique and hilarious family members. They are masterful in their portrayal of every character, every emotion, and every voice. They make these stories all the more wonderful!

Vera Kruger has dyed her hair every color of the rainbow and she’s turned two very important parts of me blue for as long as I’ve known her. She’s so deep under my skin that she’s a part of me, just like the small town we grew up in. No matter where I go on tour, she’s the one I wish I could come home to. Even if it’s to argue with her about absolutely anything. When I return to Beacon Harbor for the holidays, I’m not a screwup anymore.

Rockstar romcom perfection!
Revisado: 09-14-24
I still haven’t recovered from Damien Barber! I finished reading The Rockstar Returns a couple of days ago but couldn’t quite figure out how to put my love for this book into words. It is a wonderfully written, funny, sweet, swoony love story about a rockstar and his hometown muse who was always around but just out of reach.
Damien and Vera grew up together in the quaint town of Beacon Harbor, Maine where they were always the cool kids - and yet always manage to lose every bit of that cool when it comes to each other. Damien is talented, gorgeous and going places as an upcoming rockstar. Vera has been his muse all these years without even realizing that his songs are about her. She’s smart and sassy with a beautiful, sad heart that has known loss. I may be in lust with Damien, but I love Vera to death! She is bold but not quite brave, and the way she narrates things like a documentary voice-over is both funny and touching. These authors write the wittiest banter and create the steamiest tension, but they are also gifted at weaving in moments of heartfelt tenderness. They make us feel a touch of heartache one second and then laugh before the tears have actually fallen. The best kind of romance, if you ask me!
I read romance because I know that the characters will get their happy ending (most of the time). It’s the journey that these two take and how invested I was in them that makes this one so incredibly good. It is filled with special friendships, wonderful families, endless humor, tattoo stories, a wintery snow globe look at life, a stray cat with a cool name, great pop culture references (as always! – this time with The Princess Bride, an all-time favorite of mine), clever song-themed chapter titles, and so much longing. The anticipation throughout was as delicious as Damien! He breaks rules, melts hearts and makes us fall in love with him right along with Vera.
This audiobook is top shelf! Emma Wilder and Connor Crais are such talented actors, and they bring these already wonderful words to vivid life. They narrate these characters so beautifully and convey all sorts of emotions - from confidence to uncertainty, heartache to laughter, and from the gruff voice of one Crabby Crawford to a hilariously bad (on purpose) British accent, they can do it all. I have to say that Emma’s excellent male voice made me glad this was in dual narration. Connor is swoony throughout, and his singing was impressive. One listen of this audiobook won’t be enough!

The Mate Games: Death is a spicy paranormal series with a cast of antiheroes utterly devoted to their heroine (even if they haven’t realized it yet). It contains a cursed Novasgardian berserker with primal energy, a dastardly pirate captain who deals in pixie dust, a possessive fae dragon shifter who is fond of hand necklaces, and a mysterious Southern gentleman who’d show her what he liked if only he could remember.

Suspenseful, spicy and so much fun!
Revisado: 03-25-24
This series just keeps getting more suspenseful, spicy and fun! The intrigue at Blackwood Asylum continues in full force, and I was hanging on to each clever plot twist. Dahlia and her fated mates find themselves in the midst of a mysterious plan by Death with new secrets and motivations cropping up at every turn. In between each new revelation, we are treated to unique characters, witty banter, fun pop culture references, and super spicy scenes. The addition of various characters from the previous Mate Games series just intensified all of the intrigue and fun. I can’t wait to see what Meg Anne and K. Loraine have in store for everyone next!
I must say that the ideal way to experience this series is in audio because you will immediately fall under the spell that these talented narrators help to weave. The performances by the all-star cast of Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, James Joseph, John Hartley, J.F. Harding and Samantha Brentmoor (with an appearance by Shane East) are incredible. You are certain to constantly change your mind as to which character and which voice is your favorite. They are perfect in the way that they bring each of these unique characters to life in all of their complicated glory. You will be completely enthralled!

One heroic act damned me for eternity. With a name like Tor, I should have been a hero, just like my father and twin. Turns out I’m not. Not even close. Instead I’m the very thing we hunted. A depraved monster. I thought there was no escaping the curse. No hope for a future. And then I met my mate in the unlikeliest of places: Blackwood Asylum. A place for criminals. Power-hungry madmen. Supernatural outcasts. And her, the curvaceous writer who sees ghosts.

Wonderfully steamy and suspenseful!
Revisado: 01-16-24
I couldn’t imagine loving this first book in the new Mate Games series as much as the original, but I did! Haunting Beauty is enthralling and completely drew me in from the get go, as an excellent story should. And excellent, intriguing, funny, steamy stories are what K. Loraine and Meg Anne do best!
They start off by giving us Dahlia Moore, a heroine who is a romance writer no less! We quickly find that she is much more complex than she appears to her adoring fans. She has a very public episode that lands her in Blackwood Asylum in Scotland. Next, they have surrounded Dahlia with four mysterious men who completely fall under her spell, as we do theirs. Each has a tortured past, most of which is just touched upon here. The dragon, the pirate, the Southerner, and the Viking demi god are so different and yet so alike in their attraction to Dahlia. We quickly understand why she is drawn to each of them as well. All that swagger and swoon plus a whole lot of intrigue and this is a story that won’t let you go. There are also surprise appearances by characters from the author’s previous books, colorful side characters, and great pop culture references (Queen Charlotte was my favorite!). So basically, there’s never a dull moment! It’s surely no surprise to their loyal fans, but these authors are the queens of the cliffhanger and they have given us a doozy here!
The audiobook is incredibly well done by an all-star cast of talented voice actors. Stella Hunter leads the way as Dahlia and gives an amazing performance as the sassy and yet vulnerable heroine who is trying to find her way and figure out her true abilities. Jason Clarke as Tor, James Joseph as Hook, John Hartley as Kai, and JF Harding as Cain bring to life each man so perfectly and make us yearn to know more about them. They are all mysterious – in their pasts, their motives and their possible connection to the goings on at Blackwood Asylum. Rounding out the cast is Samantha Brentmoor as Dr. Masterson. She is a mystery herself and Samantha portrays her so artfully. Every single performance by these amazing narrators is rich and layered. I cannot recommend this audiobook enough! It’s a must listen of an epic, suspenseful fairytale retelling that will “hook” you from the start.

I spent my life running from my past, hiding behind a guitar, a microphone, and a fake last name. But after my father's death, the truth came out, I'm a Wilde, and now I'm in the spotlight more than ever. My record label has big plans for Killian Wilde, the country music sensation, and unfortunately those include a co-written album with British bad-boy rocker Jameson Lorde. The one man I can't stand. Even if he is the sexiest man I've ever seen.

So much swoon in Sunrise!
Revisado: 12-06-23
Kim Loraine writes the best cowboys and Drive Me Wild is another great addition to the Sunrise Cowboys series! This opposites attract, forced proximity love story between cowboy/country singer Killian Wilde and British rock star Jameson Lorde is the perfect addition to the series and gives us a chance to see all of our favorite characters from Sunrise, Montana once again. Killian and Jamie are forced to work together in the hopes of bringing both of their careers back to life. Their chemistry is undeniable, both personally and musically. In the process of making beautiful music together, they bring each other back to life as well. This story is full of swoon, steam and great banter. I loved these characters and this return to Sunrise. Here’s hoping Kim lets us visit again someday soon!
JF Harding makes the perfect cowboy. His southern accent is so smooth and he makes your heart ache for the uncertainty that Killian feels about himself and his future as a singer. James Joseph is wonderful in his portrayal of the swoony Brit with a heart of gold. He makes us fall a little harder for Jamie when we see (and hear) just how much he cares for Killian and the lengths he’ll go to in order to help him succeed. Stella Hunter portrays all of the female side characters and really makes the most of them. She is always amazing and shines even in these smaller roles. Excellent storytelling all around!

Ten years ago I crossed the line with my younger brother’s best friend. I knew she was in love with me, and I couldn’t resist her. River Adams gave me her innocence on her 18th birthday. I broke her in return and made her hate me. I thought walking away from her would be easy, but I never expected to come face-to-face with everything I gave up. Thanks to a stipulation in my dad’s will, she’s back and we have to live together. Me. Her. My brother Walker, who has carried a torch for her since they were kids. And, how could I forget, Bishop, the ranch hand who can’t keep his eyes off her?

Steamy and suspenseful! One listen isn't enough!
Revisado: 09-07-23
Twisted Cross Ranch has plenty of secrets and I can’t wait to unravel them all! This super steamy, suspenseful, mafia cowboy romance had me hooked from page one. I had been in a bit of a book slump and this was the perfect cure. It will have you staying up late and losing sleep just to find out what happens next. And the lack of sleep will be completely worth it!
River Adams spent her childhood at Twisted Cross Ranch and she is summoned back for reasons that she doesn’t understand. When the reason is revealed, it turns her life upside down. It also forces her to face Cross, the man who broke her teenage heart. Time has passed, but it doesn’t take long for those old feelings to come back with a vengeance. A more welcome sight is his little brother and River’s childhood best friend, Walker. His goal is to make her see him in a different light, and boy does she ever. Rounding out the trio of swoony men is Bishop, the mysterious ranch hand with secrets of his own. K. Loraine and Meg Anne have once again given us a strong, feisty heroine who is so compelling that more than one man is infatuated with her. They are masterful at writing those men with so much depth and passion that we understand her dilemma in choosing between them. It turns out that cowboys are River’s weakness and after this book, they’re sure to be yours too!
The audiobook is amazing and each performance is top notch! The incredible cast is led by the wonderful Stella Hunter, who makes us truly feel River’s apprehension at coming back to the ranch, her fear over what she might find about her parents’ mysterious death, her confusion over her feelings for three very complex men and her strength in the face of it all. Jason Clarke is commanding and powerful as Cross, Aaron Shedlock is flirty and fun as Walker, and JF Harding is tentative yet strong as Bishop. You’ll have the same dilemma as River and won’t be able to choose a favorite. These characters and this story are so gripping that one listen isn’t enough!

Masterful storytelling and an epic conclusion!
Revisado: 01-03-23
There’s so much I want to say about this book and I wish that I was half as eloquent as Meg Anne so that I could do it justice. It’s a testament to her talent at writing unique, colorful and interesting characters that it seems so fitting for this final book in The Forsaken series to begin with the character who is the epitome of that description – Bast, the charming, lovable rogue who stole our hearts in the previous two books and would like to steal Ronan from Von as his BFF. (I laughed out loud each time they tried to outdo each other and make the “best friend” claim on Ronan.) The story begins when Bast realizes that Ronan and Reyna have disappeared from the beach and it proceeds at a breakneck pace the rest of the way. After Erebos captures them, they are separated once again and we are taken on a thrilling, action-packed journey of suspense and a constant state of wonder as to how they’ll find their way back to each other - again. Meg may take us through the most momentous cliffhangers and keep us permanently perched on the edge of our seats, but she always brings us to a wonderful conclusion that makes it all so very worth it.
I must say that as often as I held my breath waiting to see what was going to happen next, I absolutely loved the times when everything slowed briefly for a stolen moment of searing hot passion or a tender, deeply felt declaration of love. Those latter moments stirred my heart so completely and made my eyes misty, just like Effie. Speaking of Effie, I was so happy so see her return along with Lucian, Helena and Von. They’re a mighty force to be reckoned with and just what Ronan and Reyna needed. But seeing his dear, old friends fight alongside his new friends was more fun than I could have imagined. One thing that makes for masterful storytelling is when the main characters have such interesting sidekicks. Each one of them either stars in their own stories from The Chosen series or is deserving of their very own story in the future. This story and these characters completely captivated me and had me cheering them on for their strength, bravery, heroism, devotion and redemption. To quote Lucian, they are an unlikely group of heroes. A Kiri and her Circle, the Vessel and the Voice, Guardians, even pirates . . . and whatever Bast is. Effie calls him the light and I’ll call him the lover. And let’s not forget the Dreamer. They’re all incredible, I love them dearly and can’t wait to see what adventures are next for them (especially for some of our newer friends).
Stella Hunter, Shane East and James Joseph are simply wonderful in their narration. They are perfect in each of their many roles with just the right nuances, voices and accents. They convey strength, fear, determination, pain, passion, anger, love, frustration, pride, wonder, humor and devotion all throughout and without missing a beat. To transition from one character and emotion to the next so flawlessly is both fantastic and impressive. Their performances bring this already incredible story to life in the most perfect way! There were so many times that I replayed a part of the story because the words were so beautifully written and so incredibly spoken that I wanted to relive them again. This is storytelling at its best!

Completely captivating!
Revisado: 11-29-22
I am completely captivated by this series, this fantastic world and Ronan and Reyna’s incredible journey! The action, adventure and romance kept me riveted from beginning to end. These two characters may be destined to be together but all the while they’re trying to find their way back to one another, Erebos is hunting them down and trying to bring Shadow/Reyna back to him. He needs her and will stop at nothing to reclaim her. But Ronan’s love for Reyna is stronger than any foe or obstacle and he will not give up trying to make her remember him and keep her as his own. This epic journey was so much fun and introduced us to an eclectic band of pirates who quickly became valiant allies and devoted friends. Part of what I love about Meg Anne’s books is the incredible world building and interesting side characters, and this story is no exception. Their world, the new lands, the familiar friends and foes (as well as new ones) all combined with amazing adventure and suspense – it’s non-stop action and I didn’t want it to end! While I knew that a cliffhanger was in store, I couldn’t have imagined just how it would play out. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead because it is certain to be epic!
The duet narration in the audiobook is also something to behold! This cast is so talented and reels you in from the start. With every emotion on point and so many diverse voices and accents, the story comes to vivid life as you take it all in. Stella Hunter and Shane East are two of my favorite narrators and this is a perfect example of the reasons why. They have such a broad range and bring every single aspect to play in this story: love, lust, fear, uncertainty, humor, triumph, rage - it’s all here. Combine them with James Joseph and it’s a trio of unbelievable talent. He made my love for Bast and my dislike of Erebos grow monumentally stronger. I’m convinced there’s nothing he can’t do!

Mesmerizing and magical!
Revisado: 10-24-22
Talk about lovely suspense that you come to both love and hate! This book is exactly that and so much more. I love following Ronan’s adventure to Empyria as he searches for Reyna, his true love. The entire journey is mesmerizing, magical and momentous. It is one of those rare stories that feels more like a movie playing out and would indeed be fun to watch onscreen. I love the world of The Chosen that Meg Anne has created as well as the unique characters that we always find there. My favorite side character here is Sebastian, known as Bast for short. He is entertaining, colorful, funny and sometimes helpful as he guides Ronan and explains the ins and outs of the city Glimmermere and more importantly, the High Lord Erebos who rules it and holds a deadly contest. When Ronan meets the beautiful Shadow, their chemistry is both immediate and scorching hot. He joins the contest just so he can spend time with her. His connection to her is intense and familiar, and he will do everything he can to make her his own. Shadow is reluctant to give in to her attraction because her life is at stake if the High Lord finds out - he also happens to think that she belongs to him. The competition in the games takes places alongside the competition for Shadow’s heart and it is thrilling! The “hate” part of this suspenseful, action-packed tale is the incredible cliffhanger at the end. I will be waiting very impatiently to see what happens next!
I listened to the audiobook and was completely drawn in by the voice acting of Shane East as Ronan, Stella Hunter as Shadow and James Joseph as Bast. I’ve always been a fan of Shane’s growly whisper, but James gives just as good as he gets when they have a whisper off. It’s the best and should not be missed! Shane pulls us into the longing and sadness that Ronan feels over losing Reyna as well as his hope over the connection he feels with Shadow. He puts his growl and those amazing whispers to work more than once and it’s so very hot! Stella is perfect, as always. She portrays Shadow’s strength and vulnerability as she navigates the uncertainty of her feelings and her future. Her accents are simply fantastic! James is amazing at Bast, bringing out his flair for the dramatic, his flirtatiousness and his moments of rare seriousness. His French is wonderfully fun as he helps make Bast the lovable lothario and supportive sidekick that you hope will someday get a story of his own. The audio is incredible and it’s the best way to experience this exciting, non-stop adventure!
