Ear Piercing Narration

The story was ok. It was along the same line as the previous books. The narration was horrific. Even my kids complained about how terrible it was. I am generally not picky on narrator but this was so bad. We made it through (mostly because we were invested after listening to three books already) but it wasn't pleasant. Even without considering the atrocious voices, I do not feel this was priced fairly. These are such short stories, including a lot of filler in the magic tricks teaching, just not worth the credit.

There are mentions of the previous books but I read this as a stand alone just fine. This is the 5th book by this author that I have read. The story lines are good but females a bit weak. Not doormats but not what one would consider a strong female either. I am not a fan of OW drama but it was mild in this book. Overall, I would read or listen to more by this author. I did like her rom coms better than this more serious side.

This follows another Thrusters hockey player and a strong female getting their hea. It was fun with just a bit of tension to balance it all out. The characters were very likeable. The plot progressed at a good speed to keep the reader's interest.

I really enjoyed these characters and this storyline. The H was sensitive while remaining strong and had some alpha male too. The h was a strong, intelligent female. Together, they were funny, steamy, and intriguing. The story was different than I expected which is always welcome. I liked the progression of the plot as well. I am so happy that I was gifted a different audio book by this author. I can definitely see myself continuing to read or listen to all of her books.

This was a fun romance. I always love a strong female lead and this book certainly came through. I enjoyed that the H wasn't perfect and loved him even more for it. I found the duo's banter funny and highly entertaining. The couple were not instant love, there was some tension, no cheating, some seriousness, a lot of comedy, and plenty of steam....so basically the perfect romance. This is only my second book by this author (I was gifted a later book in the series) but I am certainly continuing with this series.

Great and Unexpected

I was gifted this audio book and went in blindly. I really wasn't expecting the depth that this novel had. It certainly was a welcome surprise.
The H was outwardly portrayed as a mindless brute. The h was superficially portrayed as, well, a train wreck. The author really developed the characters over the course of the story so that we really see who these two are. And we see how deceiving those initial surface assumptions truly are.
This novel had passion to go along with that deeper meaning. These two characters were fun and engaging while also providing that heat which makes a great romance.
