Incredibly Relevant!
Revisado: 03-23-25
I thought this was a powerful story written and read by late President Carter. This content is more relevant now than it has ever been, and I am glad that he was a part of trying to create Peace.

Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

I was assigned to read this for a class, and genuinely enjoyed it and read it all for pleasure. It is such an insightful piece on the history of humans and the effects we have had on the world. Very thought provoking. Highly recommend!

Historia
Flynn is stuck - depressed, recently dumped, and living at his mom’s house. The supermarket was supposed to change all that. An ordinary job and a steady check. Work isn’t work when it’s saving you from yourself. But things aren’t quite as they seem in these aisles. Arriving to work one day to a crime scene, Flynn’s world collapses as the secrets of his tortured mind are revealed. And Flynn doesn’t want to go looking for answers at the supermarket. Because something there seems to be looking for him.

Better than I imagined
Revisado: 06-08-23
What an incredible story with such a crazy twist, I genuinely never expected it. I loved every second of it and especially towards the last half of the book, I couldn’t stop reading/listening. It’s also much more special when I hear Bobby narrating the story!

Historia
A self-described orphan with parents, Bobby Hall began life as Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, the only child of an alcoholic, mentally ill mother on welfare and an absent, crack-addicted father. After enduring 17 years of abuse and neglect, Bobby ran away from home and - with nothing more than a discarded laptop and a ninth-grade education - he found his voice in the world of hip-hop and a new home in a place he never expected: the untamed and uncharted wilderness of the social media age. In the message boards and livestreams of this brave new world, Bobby became Logic.

Must Read
Revisado: 12-23-21
I only started listening to Logic’s music in late 2019 and early 2020 because I never liked typical rap music, and I still don’t. Logic however, got me hooked on his story and his battles with mental health. He truly makes music that is relatable, even for someone like me who has grown up in a completely different situation. This book is absolutely phenomenal and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for motivation and gratitude.

Historia
A delightful, well-written, and vastly informative ethnographic study, this is an account of Elizabeth Warnock Fernea's two-year stay in a tiny rural village in Iraq, where she assumed the dress and sheltered life of a harem woman. This volume gives a unique insight into a part of the Midddle Eastern life seldom seen by the West.

While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. Honestly a life changing book that I plan on re-listening to eventually. I’m starting other books by Dan Brown because that was just fantastic and it opened my mind so much. I highly recommend but I would suggest having an open mind :)
