Overly Kind Story of Ponzi

I enjoyed this story of the infamous Ponzi. His name is, of course, associated with financial scams. The author gives a gentler view of Ponzi. He doesn't make excuses for the fraud that is perpetrated, but he glosses over the real harm caused to Ponzi's victims. Instead of spending time discussing the horrible impact on those who lost money, he instead gives a few humorous quips from those who managed to find some hint of humor in their loss. It seems obvious from the book that the author wants to make Ponzi a fallible human rather than an evil mastermind. The narrator does an excellent job taking us back in time and I would love to hear more readings from him. He definitely adds to this audio book's value.

Excellent Narration and Compelling Story

Fascinating story of the fall of Enron. Lots of characters to keep track of which gets to be a bit overwhelming but the story is well-written. The narration is among the best I've listened to in audiobooks.

Read the book, avoid audio book

This version of Barbarians At The Gate is short, which I knew going in. However, it glosses over so much and the narration is so poor that seems unfair to call it by the same name as the book. I don't know who made the decision to skip paying for a professional narrator, but next time please crack open the wallet.

Incredible Story, Great Writing

This is one of the few audible books that made me sit in my car to listen to just one more chapter. This incredible story of the Theranos scam is well written and the narration is well done. John Carreyrou is a credit to investigative journalism. The story sounds like a Hollywood script and each chapter pulls you in deeper. A fantastic read.

Well written story about the 1MDB scandal. Voice performance is good and the story moves along well. A good amount of characters but you never lose track of who is who.
