Historia
Humanitarian aid worker Gia Andrews chases disasters around the globe for a living. It's the perfect lifestyle to keep her far away from her own personal ground zero. Sixteen years ago, Gia's father was imprisoned for brutally killing her stepmother. Now he's come home to die of cancer, and she's responsible for his care - and coming to terms with his guilt.

Frustrating
Revisado: 11-23-24
The narration is perfect, now regarding everything else: Gia was too focused on her relationship with Jake. Didn’t she want closure? I can’t for the life of me understand why she procrastinated talking to that professor for so long. It looked like she cared for her father’s suffering but not enough to have a talk with the professor for weeks?! Especially when her father was dying?

Revisado: 04-14-23
I like this series, the plot is good, the mystery is good, I actually like her relationship with Marco and hope she ends up with him in book 7. What I dislike about Carly is her constant whining, it’s getting annoying (really annoying).

Frankie is becoming more and more annoying
Revisado: 06-14-22
This is a great read if you’re looking for something light to read, or for a nice cozy mysterie. The only problem is that the main character is incredibly idiotic. I still can’t believe that a grown woman with police training could possibly have such poor investigative skills such poor judgment and such an immature character. Maybe the writer intended to generate humor from the way she built Frankie, but it’s a bit too much, it’s becoming annoying. I literally wanted to quit the series 2 books ago, but I thought she’ll evolve and she didn’t so I will stop with the series now.

Nice concept, Poor execution
Revisado: 06-06-22
I like the concet of the series, the series is almost funny, Buț the main character is annoying, nevrotic, lacks intuition and she seams really closed-minded, wich makes her less believable as a PI. She’s supposed to be an ex-cop, but the way she approaches investigating seems amateurish.

Superficiality at its worst
Revisado: 02-15-22
The problem is with the main character. She is s-o superficial and ignorant it borders on stupidity. 2 minutes in the principal's office and it was clear the man had a medical issue. Did she stop and call for help? Nope. She continued on her rant. The woman called for help only when it was too late. She was supposed to be a private investigator now. She was supposed to be more observant. She was supposed to be smart. Not only that but her overall superficial attitude and way of thinking makes a sham of the ideea of her being a sloth. Basically the story could have been great, but the main character is crap.

Mediocre
Revisado: 09-19-21
I think the main character is supposed to be flawed, so she could be relatable. The issue I had was with her judgement. She’s supposed to be a journalist, but the way she acts, by that I mean: shallow, narrow-minded and non-intuitive, made me dislike her profoundly. I mean, when that part about her being laid off twice came in, it made the story believable. If I were a journalist reading this, I would feel insulted that’s her profession.
If you’re willing to get past that, the premise is interesting and the narrator is good.

I found the book really helpful and beautifully written.
All the advice is delivered succinctly and pragmatically, with a touch of humour on the side.
The narrating is very well done too.

The book truly offers valuable information, but the narration is really annoying.
Instead of listening to it, I would read it if I had the chance to turn back time.
