Historia
Each of us has a dual nature: we are light (conscious) and dark (unconscious). The dark side of our personality - the “other,” the shadow side - is made up of what we think is our primitive, primal, negative impulses - our “existential kink.” Our existential kink also drives the dark or negative repeating patterns in our life: always choosing the abusive partner or boss, settling for less, thinking that we’re undeserving, not worthy. But it also is the source of our greatest power.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS
Revisado: 06-25-23
The only thing worse than her voice, and overly dramatized wording — is the content of this book. More of a marketing scheme than useful.

Historia
Louie Anderson has been channeling his beloved mom in his iconic stand-up comedy for decades - but she passed away before getting to see him reach new heights with his breakout role. Hey Mom is Louie's way of catching Ora Zella Anderson up on everything that has been going on in his life, including his continued struggles with food and family, but also how so much has changed for the better. He also has plenty of laugh-out-loud stories about his incredibly resilient mother and his 10 siblings, as well as observations on the absurdities of life.

Through a series of experiments, she introduces the concept of Loving Leadership and presents a range of solo strategies for creating harmony in a marriage, including how to: develop fresh perspectives about your relationship; Overcome resentment and moving beyond blame; and how to recapture lost intimacy. With tangible goals, you can work through your own frustrations to arrive at new thinking and new actions to solve major problems - one at a time. Where does How One of You Can Bring the Two of You Together rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book gave me hope, and a lot of wisdom and insight into changing my behavior which then changes my partners behavior.
What was one of the most memorable moments of How One of You Can Bring the Two of You Together?
There are many helpful stories, however the one that stood out was about agreeing in an argument to at least some of your partners concerns and how this will soften them and help them feel understood.
Have you listened to any of Susan Page’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but Susan has a soothing voice and even when I speak to my partner, I can hear her tone in my mind as a gentle reminder to choose my words carefully and speak in a calm and caring manner.
What did you learn from How One of You Can Bring the Two of You Together that you would use in your daily life?
You do have power and control by first looking to yourself.

Would you listen to Overcoming Anger and Irritability again? Why?
This book is not loaded with techniques to deal with your anger like deep breathing, it's more about noticing your anger and using your rational brain, instead of your primitive brain. By noticing your anger and shift in temperament by noting it in a journal, you get an idea of what sets you off. Just by noticing it and logging these things really helps. The book has much more details and examples and I have listened to it over and over again.
What about William Davies’s performance did you like?
The speaker has a great voice and accent that helped put me at ease.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, the story about a person in prison for an act they committed while angry.
