Historia
Millions of people–looking to cheat on their partners–signed up for Ashley Madison in the early 2000s, seeking a private space to share their public desires. The promise of discretion was shattered in the summer of 2015, when anonymous hackers stole the company’s cache of user information and published it worldwide. The result? One of the most shocking data breaches of the internet age. Overnight, millions of unfaithful spouses had their real names, addresses and sexual preferences published online in a searchable database that anyone could browse.

Grippingly Vivid Like I was There
Revisado: 05-07-24
The Author did an outstanding job telling her story. Her voice was pleasant to listen to and her details made the story come alive like you were right there with her. I was able to picture everything clearly. What an amazing life journey she endured. This book is an easy binger.

Historia
Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Just Wow! Fantastic read!
Revisado: 10-17-22
Jennette is an incredible author and story-teller. Her voice is so pleasant to listen to, she paints very vivid pictures that makes this book jump off of the pages and come to life.
I felt her emotions; her pain, her anxiety, her grief. While many may not be able to relate to the Hollywood portion of the story, that is not at all the core of this book. Her mother’s (and grandmother’s) dysfunction and selfishness is what created the painful path that Jennette had to live. Her struggles are real life, relatable challenges, yet not self imposed.
The story of her mother is unfortunately, all too common for many daughters, yet not discussed nearly enough. This topic is uncomfortable, taboo, and by all rights… unnatural. Many of us who have experienced the narcissistic, toxic, selfishness, and dysfunction of our mothers, tend to second guess ourselves and “cope”, but it isn’t until we do the work of extensive therapy that we truly liberate the little girl within ourselves and begin recovery and healing. Jeanette did the work! She broke free and broke the cycle of sickness deeply ingrained within her mother and grandmother.
Jennette’s childhood and young adulthood is heartbreaking, yet she was brave enough to use her voice as a platform to expose and enlighten in a way that can only help others heal from similar trauma.
Jennette chose to not be a victim. Her mother and the path her mother put her on does not define her. I hope Jennette knows how brave, strong and valuable she truly is.
I would love to read more!!

Wish I had pursued this as a career. Absolutely love that cold cases are getting attention and being solved. Keep up the great work!!

Historia
In 1994, an aspiring young cold-case investigator in California’s East Bay, Paul Holes, puts aside trying to solve the Golden State Killer case as he waits for science to catch up. Paul returns to an old file cabinet at the back of the forensic lab to look for another cold case he can work—something with DNA. He finds one. The 1978 murder of a married mother who went for a morning jog in a nearby park. The original investigators believed that a serial killer named Phillip Hughes was responsible; they just couldn’t prove it.

I have always been fascinated by Organized Crime and the Cosa Nostra. I have watched every documentary and listened to every podcast. Karen Gravano’s book was put together wonderfully and was easy to follow. It helped tie up some of the details and events that Sammy, the Bull has covered in his podcast/YouTube channel. Loved it!!
