As a kid, I remember hearing about the Jonestown Massacre. Most of everything i heard was wrong! This book explains the entire story and does it VERY well. The writing is clear, the narrator is great, and the story is gripping! If you love books about stranger-than-fiction real life events as i do, this book is for you! I was bummer to see it end.

I'm not a runner, but I LOVED this book. If you like a great story (actually, many great stories) about the human spirit, athletic determination, interesting and unusual people you'll love the book. It's very well-written and voiced.

This book is very touching and moving. It's a super-sad, gut-wrenching story. It's well-written, although a bit dramatic and flowery at times.

I enjoyed listening to it -- in fact, the epilogue by his wife was the best part IMHO -- and I thought it might contain some deep "life revelations," but i didn't find any. I'm not criticizing the author, i'm just making it clear that if you listen to this with the expectation that you're going to learn something that will help you deal with the complexities of life and death, i'm not sure you'll find it.

Having said that, the story is a very interesting and touching one, and I did enjoy listening to it

Entertaining, FUNNY, shocking about Scientology

I loved this book. I'd never heard of Remini before -- sorry, Leah...guess you're not THAT famous :) -- but i wish i had. She does a GREAT job of reading this book with all the flair and emphasis that I love hearing from an author. And her NY accent is funny. Of course, the book is essentially about Scientology, and it will shock you. Scientology sounds more like a cult than a church. I can't believe what they put people thru, what they put her thru, and how she survived it all. Listen, enjoy, and learn.

The story behind this story is pretty intriguing: can someone traverse the country without a single penny, relying on the generosity of strangers? It's cool to see that there are a lot of helpful people in the world. However, let's also remember the guy essentially "begged" his way across America. OK, he didn't have a sign that said "need money," and he didn't take any money, but the only way he ate, slept, or traveled in a vehicle was for someone else to give it to him. At times that sort of bugged me. But all in all, the book was enjoyable and it was an interesting journey

This is a great book. Musk is quite a person...if you like reading about people who are brilliant, driven, and a bit quirky, this is your book.

The Happiness Hypothesis Audiolibro Por Jonathan Haidt arte de portada

I was disappointed by this book. It sounded great -- I got the impression I was going to learn various approaches to increase happiness from many ancient cultures. Cool! Rather, there was just a lot of theory and research and a few interesting thoughts, but nothing to really grab onto and make use of. Please note I wasn't looking for a "silver bullet;" i'm a very happy person and I just like reading about how to maintain and improve that happiness. But this book offered almost nothing of any real value. Taking the time to listen to it decreased my happiness! :)

Starts great but turns into a sermon on privacy

This book is purportedly about the Edward Snowden story, and it starts out telling that story but it becomes something much different. The Snowden story is really interesting and feels like a real-life thriller. But 1/3 of the way through the book it devolves into the author's pontifications on privacy, government surveillance, and so forth. I got really tired of hearing him talk about it all. I stopped listening.

One other thing to be aware of: this is a hard book to listen to (as vs. read). The narrator does an excellent job, but a good part of the book is composed of excerpts of the documents Snowden stole, and it's painful to hear the narrator read all the little details, including all the arcane government acronyms and terms ("No Forn...Target, Five Is...Subject: DISA counter actions for XYZ). It will drive you batty.

This book is meaningful, moving, informative, funny, exciting, and so much more. I've listened to almost 50 audible books and this is without question one of the best (it may be THE best). I'd give it a 10 if the ratings went that high. It's very well-written and the narrator's voice is just perfect. I can't say enough about how great this book is. It's especially great if you like animals; there's a lot in here about how animals (elephants) live and love. I've been to Africa on a safari and have seen these incredible creatures up close. This book captures their intrigue and majesty. Listen to it -- you'll love it.

i was excited to listen to this book because Einstein was such a genius. I tried very hard to listen to it all but just couldn't. the level of detail about mundane parts of his life was just too much.
