Historia
In In Order to Live, Yeonmi Park shines a light not just into the darkest corners of life in North Korea, describing the deprivation and deception she endured and which millions of North Korean people continue to endure to this day, but also onto her own most painful and difficult memories. She tells with bravery and dignity for the first time the story of how she and her mother were betrayed and sold into sexual slavery in China and forced to suffer terrible psychological and physical hardship before they finally made their way to Seoul, South Korea - and to freedom.

Important!
Revisado: 09-10-21
Yeonmi Park's accounts are not only heart wrenching, but important for understanding the unjust, cruel realities that exist in the world. The cruelties and suffering, as she points out, are not limited to North Korea, but it is a very specific kind of cruelty dealt to its many people.
What's also important is the realities she shares about human trafficking in China - but more so is the understanding that this is a worldwide issue; in the United States, there are thousands of women and children trafficked for sex or other purposes every year. Many of those being trafficked are coming across the southern border, some to be used by the cartels as drug mules, some for sex work, some as sex slaves for individuals.
Just as important is her expression of her realization of compassion, and that even those in terrible occupations and those in the worst of all situations imaginable are capable of compassion.
Yeonmi Park is a very brave soul, and I wish her a lasting peace as she continues to speak out on behalf of all who are suffering in North Korea, China, and elsewhere.

One of the Greatest Thinkers of Our Time
Revisado: 08-31-21
Jason Riley does a great job of compiling much information about and directly from Thomas Sowell, including from other thought leaders who share in the quest for expanding modern understandings of economy, history, race relations, sociology, psychology, and how these and other areas of study relate to and build upon each other. He is much more than just an economist, and this book makes sure that fact is well understood.

Historia
According to the establishment media, the intelligentsia, and our political chattering class, the greatest threat to American freedom lies in right-wing authoritarianism. We’ve heard that some 75 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump represent the rise of American fascism; that conservatives have allowed authoritarianism to bloom in their midst, creating a grave danger for the republic.

Ben Shapiro Says it All
Revisado: 08-28-21
Ben emphasizes the dangers we are facing from an authoritarian movement stemming from the left of politics that reaches far and wide and threatens to either forcibly unify the country through subversive, coercive means, or divide the country due to their extreme demands on their fellow citizens.
It is important now more than ever to unite for the sake of traditional values, facts over feelings, and the future of America and the western world.

Historia
These wide-ranging essays - on many individual political, economic, cultural, and legal issues - have as a recurring, underlying theme the decline of the values and institutions that have sustained and advanced American society for more than two centuries. This decline has been more than erosion. It has, in many cases, been a deliberate dismantling of American values and institutions by people convinced that their superior wisdom and virtue must override both the traditions of the country and the will of the people.

George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Correlations with Reality
Revisado: 07-15-21
Wow. Who would have thought that, so many years later, such a book would be translated into reality? If you pay attention, there are multiple examples of "double-think," "thought police," and others; the "thought police" are the social media mobs that gang up on people to get them fired from their jobs and essentially expelled from public social life, and some examples of "double-think" are the redefining of man and woman - such as how a woman is the only sex that is able to physically bear a child, but to be politically correct (double-thinking) would be to submit to the idea that men can be women and women can be men - that they're interchangeable - and so men can bear children and women can produce sperm.
We see in reality how the regime is taking hold in the Western world, and how so-called "thought-police" seek social justice in such a way that would imprison and force re-education on those who would refuse to call a woman a man and submit to her version of reality due to gender dysphoria - which many young people have been found to regret doing later in life or grow out of if given the opportunity.
I believe reading this book and understanding such modern correlations is more important than ever. One has to wake up and stand up to "big brother," that the regime may not enforce its power before it is so unbelievably impossible to resist.

Historia
Marxism is a term that many people freely use, but few seem to grasp its implications. Sowell's book is the antidote to this problem. He writes in a fluid and easy-to-follow manner, leading the listener through the Marxian scheme of ideas. Along the way, he shatters some existing interpretations of Marx-interpretations that have developed through repetition rather than through scholarship.

Marxism Doesn't Stand Up to Scrutiny
Revisado: 07-10-21
Thomas Sowell died a magnificent job explaining the precepts of Marxism and deconstructing them, showing their historical failures when attempted as an economical and political system.
Today, modern Marxists use similar strategies to those suggested in Marx's writings: dismiss historical facts, assume intellectual superiority, assume their own predictions and determinations as factual (despite empirical data proving otherwise), and start a revolution of the working class (modern ANTIFA) with the ultimate goal of dissolution of government and socializing all production of goods. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a firm believer in such philosophies, as her political platform and policies suggests. Don't fall for the trap.

When Andy Ngo was attacked in the streets by antifa in the summer of 2019, most people assumed it was an isolated incident. But those who'd been following Ngo's reporting in outlets like the New York Post and Quillette knew that the attack was only the latest in a long line of crimes perpetrated by antifa.

One of the Most Important Books in Modern Tunes
Revisado: 07-07-21
On this book, Andy Ngo not only provides numerous revelations about Antifa's methods and tactics, but also addresses the history of anti-fascist and anti-racist organizations, and how an anti-fascist government abuses its powers in order to monitor and oppress its constituents (think communist Soviet Union, China, and even the U.S.'s NSA surveillance).
If you haven't already read this book, you don't know what you're missing. This book confirms that Antifa is a domestic terrorist organization, without a doubt.
And this all raises the questions:
In 2020, why did the FBI and DOJ dismiss Antifa as "just an idea," as opposed to a domestic terrorist organization?
And in 2021, why did the FBI and DOJ claim that white supremacist groups are the #1 threat to American democracy, when Antifa is the most active anarchist organization in the history of the U.S.?

Discrimination and Disparities challenges believers in such one-factor explanations of economic outcome differences as discrimination, exploitation, or genetics. It is listenable enough for people with no prior knowledge of economics. Yet the empirical evidence with which it backs up its analysis spans the globe and challenges beliefs across the ideological spectrum.

Thomas Sowell, in this book, brings light to many facts that are often omitted for the sake of a specific goal, and emphasize the negative effects that ignoring these facts in politics has led to greater disparities and a regression in culture as opposed to greater equity. 10/10 worth the read/listen.

An explosive, whistle-blowing expose, Exonerated: The Failed Takedown of Donald Trump by the Swamp reveals how Deep State actors relied on a cynical plug-and-play template to manufacture the now-discredited Russiagate scandal. With the cutting analysis and insight he exhibited in his blockbuster bestseller Spygate: The Attempted Sabotage of Donald J. Trump, Fox News contributor Bongino exposes who masterminded the dangerous playbook to take down Trump, their motives, and how a plan filled with faked allegations backfired.

Revisado: 10-28-20
Dan Bongino brings forward a lot of context that was seemingly intentionally omitted during the Special Counsel investigation, the FBI investigation, and the DNC opposition research. The dots connected and disconnected in this book will bring anybody to question the motives of the teams involved, and to question the abuse of processes and failure to corroborate information key to the investigations.
