Lazy and disappointing

I loved the first book, it was interesting, the nostalgia didn't feel lazy or crammed down the readers throat, the story was good, and characters likable --- it is one of my favorites. The second book took this in a different direction; the nostalgia is lazy and had me rolling my eyes at times, the story is okay at best, the characters become less likable/relatable, and what would be major plots/arcs are just glanced over or written off. The performance was really well done though, so no issue there...

I highly recommend the first book - but unless you just want to see what kind of nostalgia he throws in and have a few hours and a credit to waste - I say skip this one...

Radio Dramatic Acting, Superb!

I enjoyed the series overall. There were two stories and a couple of characters I did not enjoy therefore skipping over chapters and stories entirely. Overall, this was well worth my time and the purchase.

Entertaining, Funny, and doesn't lose interest

Great listen, the reader kept it going and the author keeps a pace throughout the book. I recommend this for anyone that wants a fun and short book.

Disappointing/Rushed

I normally don't give bad reviews. However, all the reviews I read on this book were stellar and I found this book no where close.

The Good: I really liked the character development, would love to get to know some of the characters more - both the native planet characters and the human colonists. The overall story had a lot of potential.

The Bad: it felt rushed and should have been a trilogy or more. Ever watch a movie or have someone tell you a book summary from a high level and you can tell it should be great, but all the beauty was left in the mind of the director or story teller? That is this book. I can tell the author had an amazing world and story in his mind, it just fell flat. The story builds up lots of interesting plot lines that just go away. I understand the overall messages, key points, an impact to the message, etc I just felt there was too many pieces built up that have little reason to be there other than filler.

Good story

Story was good - can't wait for the next in the series. Read a lot of reviews comparing to Harry Potter, while I can certainly seer similarities - if you get expecting the same you may be disappointed. Read/listen to it and try not to compare. Both series are good, but different.
