Decent Story

I liked the reader, the story was too slow. High schools are the best plot devices to tell a great story like this. I never became vested in the slow build to Scottie and Irene. I think it was too much hate drummed up for the love to ever become believable. Nothing in the story made me want to root for them to be together. The story has all of the elements but something was lacking.

Saw movie first

I saw this movie on Netflix years ago. Great movie. I was hoping Lisa Ray narrating the audiobook would mean she’d deliver her lines in the book similar to how she acted the part. She didn’t. Nevertheless, the book allows your mind to fill in more vivd details not present in the film. I would recommend it.
