Over the next four years, this young naturalist made history as he explored deep into America’s natural wonders, collecting and drawing plants and animals which had never been seen back in the Old World. Nine years later Catesby produced his magnificent and groundbreaking book, The Natural History of Carolina, the first-ever illustrated account of American flora and fauna.

Revisado: 06-09-24
In Nature's Messenger, readers are transported back to the early 18th century, walking alongside the pioneering English naturalist Mark Catesby on his ventures through the American colonies. This book chronicles his explorations and captures the essence of a man whose work laid the groundwork for future ornithologists and botanists like John James Audubon and Charles Darwin.
The biographical narrative is beautifully woven with historical context, allowing readers to understand the challenges Catesby faced. Scholars and enthusiasts will find this book an invaluable resource on colonial American ecology and early scientific exploration. For anyone fascinated by natural history or biographical tales rich with exploration, this book is an essential addition to your library.
The author is a smooth and captivating reader. I enjoyed this audible version of this beautiful work.

Distracting mispronunciations of medical terms
Revisado: 05-30-20
Excellent book. Reader is good but does not know how to pronounce many of the medical terms which was VERY distracting. It would have been better for Dr. Barnard to have read it.
