This is a pretty good sequel to Submission, but like most sequels it didn't quite live up to the first. It was nice to see Tobias and Noah grow together in their relationship. And once again it is really nice to see a book with a more realistic portrayal of the BDSM community.

Maxx Power does a great job with pacing but I still think his characters need more distinction.

I'm really happy I was able to read this book. I'm so tired of reading these BDSM books written by people that have never truly experienced professional or experienced play. Yes, this book is a bit clinical and focuses a lot on the relationship and the characters' feelings, but that's how these dynamics are. It felt authentic to me and I'm glad the focus wasn't just the sex part.

Maxx Power does a pretty good job narrating. I think he has a great voice for narrating but his characters need some more distinction.

Three more quick and fun murder mysteries from Minnie Crockwell. Minnie and Ben must have the worst luck to stumble upon a murder at every stop they make but it's a lot of fun for the reader. Minnie and Ben have finally left the Pacific Northwest and have made their way down to the Old West. But then they skip right over Texas to stay in Alabama! And considering that it's almost a full day's trip just to travel from the west side of Texas to the east side - not to mention passing through New Mexico, Louisiana, and Mississippi - I can only assume they encountered no murders during their stay(s) in these states so they do not warrant any dedicated story.

Michelle Babb is fantastic as always. I love the ways she voices Minnie and Ben. Her accent is perfect and I could listen to her all day. I wish she available to narrate my life. I feel like she would make it sound way more interesting than it really is.

So often I pick up a high fantasy book and it takes almost 20% to build up enough of the world for us to start the story. But not with Zelia. The story jumps in immediately. So quickly, in fact, that I thought I was listening to the second in the series. It has a fast pace and is full of action. The characters are well developed and feel like they have a history in the world.

CB Droege does an excellent job narrating. The characters were distinct and the pacing was excellent.

Witch Cozy Mystery Eight Book Set Audiolibro Por Amelia Morgan arte de portada

Nothing special for the cozy mystery genre

Nothing special for the cozy mystery genre. I'm not totally sure why Meg runs a donut shop since she never seems to work in it. The witch status also seems pretty unnecessary as well. She does use it but so sparingly that I forgot it was even a character trait for most of the series except for the one seance. And she's not even the best detective. Most of her success is due to constantly badgering the suspects, purposefully aggravating them until they are almost to the point of throwing fists, and some sort of epiphany she gets from her cat-grandmother. My biggest issue is how similar the books are to each other. Some of the dialogue is recycled, most notably how all of the killers "have a mental breakdown" and spill all the details of their crime. Honestly, I'm so glad I'm done with this series. If I hadn't been given a copy in exchange for a review I would have abandoned the series after book two. The plots are so similar that it's not even fun. The character are aggressive and bullies who essentially trick the suspects into talking to them.

Lainie Pahos does a great job narrating.

This is my first introduction into the series I've read and honestly it's felt like the exact same story four times. It started off okay but nothing special and quickly turned repetitive. Daisy is the worst kind of investigator - an aggressive bully with no authority but with plenty of self-importance to involve herself in cases that she shouldn't.

Donna Soto does a great job narrating. I liked the different accents.

This is absolutely not for everyone. The description is incredibly intriguing which is why I wanted to give it a go but I did not expect the gruesome horror that awaited within. If you're a fan of Eli Roth gore-porn films then you will probably love this sadistic tale. If you are like me and get queasy at the description of someone having their eyes sewn shut with twine, then you really need to avoid this one.

Sean Duregger did a great job narrating such a gory book. I do not envy him.

This was strange for me. I just finished reading another cozy by Potts when I picked this one up and it's like they were written by two different people. The Sabrina in this book was rude and a bully to the people she talked with. She lies multiple times to trick them into talking to her and it makes for a difficult read when you don't like the protagonist. I don't think I could continue this series.

On the other hand, Lainie Pahos did a great job narrating. She managed to capture the perfect tone of the book.

Not a bad introduction to Treasure Cove, Sabrina, and Detective David. It's a short mystery - a plus for cozy mysteries in my opinion - and the victim has an interesting job (mattress salesman) which makes it just a little more fun.

Carrie Burgess did a great job narrating. I liked her characterizations.

This was a great book to use as a jumping point into the series. Alex is a fun and smart character. Unlike many cozy mystery MCs, Alex goes about her investigation with logic and careful consideration which I greatly appreciate. The fact that her husband is a police detective is a nice twist on the genre, especially since she never asks for his help (and often asks him to stay away after arresting her sister). I would love to read the rest in the series.

Michelle Babb is a wonderful narrator, as usual. I have no proof, but I'm sure that she makes every book she narrates at least one star better.
