Historia
The once-utopian Chasm City - a domed human settlement on an otherwise inhospitable planet---has been overrun by a virus known as the Melding Plague, capable of infecting any body, organic or computerized. Now, with the entire city corrupted - from the people to the very buildings they inhabit---only the most wretched sort of existence remains. The stakes are raised when Tanner Mirabel's search brings him face to face with a centuries-old atrocity that history would rather forget.

Always a sure thing with Reynolds

second in the series and just as compelling, I accidently skipped this book in the order it was intended, I suggest you not repeat my mistake. though the story could be construed as superfluous to the main story arch the introduction of nonliving characters like pleauge and maggots help in later stories.

it's hard to remain hopeful and it's heavy but I don't think I should have children...it's the responsibility of the parent to provide for a child and as bleek as it is I can't do that. should humanity even exist?

not enough everyday ppl understand this issue
Revisado: 01-18-17
This read like a great long form article. It explained in detail the events in a way that someone with basic knowledge of the subject could understand and benefit from its intended message/lessons. It married the testimony of key players with events in harmony. Everyone who wants to have an opinion on what America's role in going after ISIS should read this book before deciding their opinions.

Historia
In today's post-truth political landscape, there is a carefully concealed but ever-growing industry of organized misinformation that exists to create and disseminate lies in the service of political agendas. Ari Rabin-Havt and Media Matters for America present a revelatory history of this industry - which they've dubbed Lies, Incorporated - and show how it has crippled legislative progress on issues including tobacco regulation, public health care, climate change, gun control, immigration, abortion, and same-sex marriage.

definitely good and important info
Revisado: 08-15-16
i personally would have liked more fleshing out but ultimately the info and the overall point of the work was imperative to our current society. we are literally paralyzed in the country and in an effort to cope we willingly inguage in group delusion that we are somehow THE shinning example of a democratic western nation. If we don't have authors that are willing to talk sense when it's not easy is priceless to our nation.

Historia
Rise of the Warrior Cop traces the arc of US law enforcement from the constables and private justice of colonial times to present-day SWAT teams and riot cops. Today relentless "war on drugs" and "war on terror" pronouncements from politicians, along with battle-clad police forces with tanks and machine guns, have dangerously blurred the distinction between cop and soldier. Balko's fascinating, frightening narrative shows how martial rhetoric and reactionary policies have put modern law enforcement on a collision course with the values of a free society.

Historia
May 1945. Hitler is dead, and the Third Reich is little more than smoking rubble. No GI wants to be the last man killed in action against the Nazis. But for cigar-chewing, rough-talking, hard-drinking, hard-charging Captain Jack Lee and his men, there is one more mission: rescue 14 prominent French prisoners held in an SS-guarded castle high in the Austrian Alps. It's a dangerous mission, but Lee has help from a decorated German Wehrmacht officer and his men, who voluntarily join the fight.
