Historia
Richard Brockwell, the younger son of Ivy Hill's most prominent family, hasn't been home for Christmas in years. He prefers to live in the London townhouse, far away from Brockwell Court, the old family secret that haunts him, and the shadows of his past mistakes. But then his mother threatens to stop funding his carefree life - unless he comes home for Christmas. Out of options, he sets out for Ivy Hill, planning to be back on a coach bound for London and his unencumbered bachelor life as soon as the festivities are over.

Warm, heartbreaking, clean, excellent story telling! Excellent read.

This is my fav audio book of all. Very heartbreaking and yet uplifting at the same time. A lot of unexpected twists and turns. The characters will live in my memory, along with Jane Austin’s Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy. Will read again.

Revisado: 01-02-24
Really enjoyed this audiobook, especially that it didn’t have graphic violence (which can be a bit much in some of these biblical novels). The back story helped bring the familiar Bible characters to life.

Great and interesting story.
Revisado: 12-18-23
I really liked this story. Tessa Afshar is an excellent author. Pillar Witherspoon, the narrator, has a nice voice to listen to. What I don’t like about her narration style is that she puts pregnant pauses in illogical places which call attention to her and at times confuse the story. I’ve had to go back and re-listen in order to pick up the thread again. It’s as if she is running out of breath and so pauses in order breathe in and then finish the thought. I like the sound of her voice enough to continue listening to her. I hope Ms Afshar will follow up quickly with a sequel to this novel.

Great follow up to book 1
Revisado: 10-10-23
I read this book (Legacy of Mercy vol 2) before reading Waves of Mercy (vol 1). After reading both books in order, it is now an even more satisfying read. God’s redemptive grace permeates the pages of each volume! Lynn Austin is a very gifted author with sound Christian doctrine and theology. I’m sure I will read these again in the future!
