Trump, Jr. writes about the importance of fighting back and standing up for what you believe in. From his childhood summers in Communist Czechoslovakia that began his political thought process, to working on construction sites with his father, to the major achievements of President Trump's administration, Donald Trump, Jr., spares no details and delivers a book that focuses on success and perseverance, and proves offense is the best defense.

Revisado: 02-04-20
Excellent read, and Trump Jr has a great voice so easy to listen to. Hope there's another book coming from him soon. I'd say the book is a more important read for someone who disagrees with Conservatives. Trump Jr. does a great job laying out how the media and the Left has contorted the truth and destroyed America.

America is in serious trouble, and our days as a superpower are numbered, argues businessman and entrepreneur Donald J. Trump in his blockbuster new book. With his trademark candor and charisma, Trump reveals his hardline, commonsense solutions to the problems plaguing us today and shows how we can put our country back on the path to greatness. Nobody is better at achieving spectacular success than Donald Trump. Here, Trump shows how America can do the same.

Excellent book, by an excellent author.
Revisado: 11-03-15
This is a fantastic book, written by my favorite business author. I've read every single Trump book, and this delivers on the long history of excellent books by Trump. Do yourself a favor, and even if he's not your candidate, read or listen to this book.
As always, Trump delivers on a no-nonsense approach about how it's time for all of us to get tough and succeed. I highly recommend this even for someone simply interested in business and not politics.
Personally, I'm looking forward to reading his next book, Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again.

Although frequently vilified, Iran is a nation of great intellectual variety and depth, and one of the oldest continuing civilizations in the world. Its political impact has been tremendous, not only on its neighbors in the Middle East but also throughout the world. From the time of the prophet Zoroaster, to the powerful ancient Persian Empires, to the revolution of 1979, the hostage crisis, and the current standoff over Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Michael Axworthy vividly depicts the nation’s rich history.

Extremely biased, not a good historical survey.
Revisado: 06-14-14
At first, I thought this was a pretty good book. It started out and spent a decent amount of time going into detail about the Achaemenid empire. Oddly enough, the author even covers the Qajar dynasty, which many books skim over. Unfortunately, it became extremely obvious the author was biased once the 1900s arrived. As soon as the author began to describe the Pahlavi dynasty, the blame game began. Everything is the fault of the British, US, and the evil capitalists.
For a book about Iranian history, it's incredible that the author spends about 10 minutes talking about H.I.M. Muhammad Reza Shah. Even if someone hates what the Shah did or stood for, no historical record of Iran could be complete without spending at least an entire chapter on the time period between 1900 and 1979.
To make matters worse, the author actually appears to be a supporter of the post-79 regime that has murdered so many, and destroyed the nation.
Another aspect of the book that is bad is that the author's personal feelings towards American leaders, notably Republican George Bush, is obviously very negative. When I'm listening to a book about Iranian history, the last thing I want to hear is the author's personal feelings. Especially anti-American rhetoric.
The author mistakingly states that before Obama, no one had tried to talk or negotiate with Iran. This is absolutely false, as every single US President has made many attempts to communicate and in fact, negotiate with the monsters.
The only way that this book makes sense is if the author is an IRGC employee. The nonsense at the end about the nuclear investigations makes it very clear that he is biased or simply on the regime's payroll.
If you want to read a good, historical record about Iran, pick up a copy of Amir Taheri's The Persian Night.

John Galt, the fictional character from Ayn Rand's best-selling novel Atlas Shrugged has come to embody the individualist capitalist who acts in his own enlightened self interest, and in doing so lifts the world around him. Some of today's most successful CEOs, journalists, sports figures, actors, and thinkers have led their lives according to Galt's (i.e., Rand's) philosophy. Now, in I Am John Galt, these inspiring stories are gathered with the keen insight and analysis of well-known market commentator Donald Luskin and business writer Andrew Greta.

Historia
For over a quarter century, Iran has been one of America's chief nemeses. Ever since Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah in 1979, the relationship between the two nations has been antagonistic: revolutionary guards chanting against the Great Satan, Bush fulminating against the Axis of Evil, Iranian support for Hezbollah, and President Ahmadinejad blaming the U.S. for the world's ills.

Much of the data was good, but I'd skip it.
Revisado: 06-18-13
I have read just about every book there is to read on this subject, and am an Iranian myself. I appreciate this book and the direction from which it is written, however I would have preferred it without the political slant.
It's very clear that the author has a dislike for Bush 43, and that gets in the way of the content of the book. It's unfortunate that such an in depth book is hindered by political views.
The authors anti-Bush rhetoric isn't the only negative. The author also goes on to blame Iran's problems on everyone but Iran. He's sympathetic to the jurisprudence in Iran, and makes the case that the rest of the world hasn't tried to negotiate or engage them, which is false.
A much better, less politically skewed work, is Amir Taheri's The Persian Night, also available here on Audible.

Historia
In Israel and the West, it is called the Six Day War. In the Arab world, it is known as the June War or, simply, as "the Setback". Never has a conflict so short, unforeseen, and largely unwanted by both sides so transformed the world. The Yom Kippur War, the war in Lebanon, the Camp David accords, the controversy over Jerusalem and Jewish settlements in the West Bank, the intifada, and the rise of Palestinian terror are all part of the outcome of those six days.

As passionate as it is profound, Atlas Shrugged is one of the most influential novels of our time. In it, Rand dramatizes the main tenets of objectivism, her philosophy of rational selfishness. She explores the ramifications of her radical thinking in a world that penalizes human intelligence and integrity.

The book is fantastic, but this performance is bad
Revisado: 10-25-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Atlas Shrugged to be better than the print version?
Not this version. There were so many times when you could hear whispering in the background and voice of the narrator cutting off.
What did you like best about this story?
The story itself, it's a classic.
What didn’t you like about Edward Herrmann’s performance?
See my above comments.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

With unprecedented access to key sources and his great gift for storytelling, Bowden takes us inside the rooms where decisions were made and on the ground where the action unfolded.

No need for the liberal political bias.
Revisado: 10-25-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The author could have stuck to the facts and the story, instead of dedicating nearly the entire book to promoting his pro-Obama agenda.
I never write bad reviews on here, it's pretty rare, so you know it's bad.
Has The Finish turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, other authors in this genre don't write a book in the hopes of getting their candidate elected. Most are unbiased and care about the "facts."
Would you be willing to try another one of James Lurie’s performances?
No, he was quiet...unless the preview shows better.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Finish?
Probably 80% of it. Nearly the entire book is a "rah rah Obama!" pep rally.
Any additional comments?
I was really really disappointed as Mark Bowden's book on the Mogadishu incident was so much better. I've known that Mark Bowden is clearly a Democrat, and that's fine, but wow, this book is just sad. I can't recommend it.
