I liked the story. Good guy vs Bad guys….The narration was dead pan and I think it could have been a richer experience with an experienced narrator and not AI,
Overall, I liked it and would read the next one.

Better than a Blitzstick!
Revisado: 05-03-25
DCC was my first LitRPG audio books and now I’m addicted.
I used a precious credit for it back in 2021 and on a quiet, post “COVID” walk and I thought, “it looks fun and I need a little fun”.
I never looked back!!!!
Thank you Matt Dinniman (author), JeffHays(narrator extraordinaire) for bringing these characters, Carl and Donut and all the rest of the crazies in these stories that keep me laughing and listening, anxious to know what or who comes next.
My favorite character is ready for anything and always naughty sex doll with a wild heart, Samantha.
I’ve just reread all of the books for the 3rd time.
I take very long walks….(don’t ask).
I recommend this series for anyone that loves their audio books a tad left of center, laugh out loud funny, raunchy, bad ass, and outrageous. It’s got a solid premise and stable narrative.
I can’t wait to see how this wraps up, but I hope it takes a long time.
Respect, Tammy S. FL

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

The story is provocative and remains relevant. Sadly, the narration doesn’t do it for me. I found it grating and distracting.
After you preview, check out other narrators. The story is worth the effort.

Thoroughly enjoying these
Revisado: 10-09-23
I really enjoy this series. I think Ms.Shaw does an excellent job with the narration!
I’ve been reading the series since the beginning and will continue to purchase and reread and recommend.
I’m going to miss Stephen- I’m a nurse and have spent time in elder care and now have a family member with early onset dementia. I felt the author showed an extraordinary understanding for the challenges and heartaches this disease has for the patient and their loved ones. Well done.

Love, love, love these!
As long as she keeps writing them, I’ll keep buying them.
Absolutely no one better at character/story development.
I love a book that I can dive into and spend hours absorbing.
To anyone that complains about the length, I would say that if you want a shallow read then stay in the puddles, I appreciate a good swim in deep water!
Keep on Rocking, ✌️

Historia
Felix Allsey is a travel writer with a keen eye for the paranormal, and he's carved out a unique, if only slightly lucrative, niche for himself in nonfiction; he writes travelogues of the country's most haunted places, after haunting them himself. When he convinces the owner of the infamous Rotterdam Mansion to let him stay on the premises for two weeks, he believes he's finally found the location that will bring him a best seller. Then things start going wrong: screams from upstairs, figures in the thresholds, and more than what should be in any basement.

Historia
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.
