Short stories leaves you feeling short changed
Revisado: 11-26-23
Drew Foley deserves more than this short story! I feel like this only sets up each story and leaves us without any satisfaction of the characters love stories being fully rounded out.

Historia
For eleven seasons, Marion Ross was head of one of America's favorite television households. Now meet the lovable real-life woman behind the Happy Days mom. In this warm and candid memoir, filled with loving recollections from the award-winning Happy Days team - from break-out star Henry Winkler to Cunningham "wild child" Erin Moran - Ross shares what it was like to be a starry-eyed young girl with dreams in poor, rural Minnesota, and the resilience, sacrifices, and determination it took to make them come true.

painful to listen to
Revisado: 11-05-23
I wanted to love this book because Marion Ross is an American treasure! Her acting is wonderful, but her storytelling is boring and stale. She doesn't share that much and it's all very surface level. A Wikipedia page is more interesting than this autobiography.

What is it really like to be a housewife? We all want to know, but only the women we love to watch and the people who make the show have the whole story. Well, listen in close, because they’re about to tell all.

yikes those impersonations
Revisado: 06-18-23
The book itself was not bad, it was pretty entertaining to go back for a recap of all the franchises. I enjoyed the additional narratives from the housewives and others involved in the show. but this audio book was painful at times. It was vile how they represented some housewives distinctive voices, I never want to feel bad for Kelly Dodd but what was that nonsense?????? Decent book and awful performance!

Historia
In this searing memoir of survival in the spirit of Stolen Innocence, the daughter of Warren Jeffs, the self-proclaimed Prophet of the FLDS Church, takes you deep inside the secretive polygamist Mormon fundamentalist cult run by her family and how she escaped it. Born into the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rachel Jeffs was raised in a strict patriarchal culture defined by subordinate sister wives and men they must obey.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

wow
Revisado: 10-08-22
This is a dive into not just child stardom but a raw view at someone's struggle with disordered eating. If you don't cry at some point, you may not be human. I deeply appreciate the look into Jennette's inside view of an abused and exploited child actor. I hope this brings her true peace, she deserves that. powerful doesn't even seem like a strong enough word to describe this book.

A Powerful Story of an Empowered Woman
Revisado: 02-23-20
Jess candidly shares her journey from her rise from virginal Texan sweetheart to international sex symbol and into motherhood. An inspiring woman with much more depth than many have given her credit for. Her struggle with body image, bad relationships and alcohol make her just like all of us girls who have grown up with her music, short acting career and now fantastic inclusive fashion brand.

A slow start! Once it takes off, you're sucked in
Revisado: 10-30-19
I struggled at first but it takes off after the first half! It was a bit too choppy with the dancing between stories and eras when I started. I ended up putting it away for months before trying again. Avery's story was bland and tiresome, I don't care about her poor rich kid problems, I wanted more about the Foss kids who were ripped from their parents! The end wraps up and makes Avery much more palatable and easier to finally relate to.

Historia
Erika Jayne didn't make it this far by holding back. Now, in her first-ever memoir, the fan favorite star of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills bares her heart, mind, and soul. In Pretty Mess, Erika spills on every aspect of her life: from her rise to fame as a daring and fiery pop/dance performer and singer; to her decision to accept a role on reality television; to the ups and downs of family life (including her marriage to famed lawyer Tom Girardi, 33 years her senior). There's much more to Erika Jayne than fans see on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Very bland and poorly executed reading of the book
Revisado: 05-12-18
It's a struggle to complete this ugly mess even for a huge rhobh fangirl like myself. The stories are dry and nothing interesting despite being about a colorful woman. Erika's icy personality is noticeable but never really explored like you expect from a memoir.
