Mah… Honestly feels like only maximum half of the book follows Matt and Liz and the rest is just « filler « . The intention might have been to world build, but you just end up feeling a bit cheated.

If you like waiting for hours for something to happen, then this is the perfect book for you.
Really…
After 7 great books our hero spends this one in a tunnel thinking about game mechanics and opening promts - dont expect any plot progress.

The first time I actually had to force myself to ignore the voice acting and just listen to the story. I honestly found Steven Crossleys people painfully stupid, clichee and annoying.
Story in itself was actually both creative and good, but there is a lot of heros dropping important items at critical times or stopping to reflect on the world situation instead of using their advantage.

Simply boring. I have enjoyed all the other books in this series, but I found myself speaking out loud angrily to “move the hell on” on multiple occations which I honestly can’t recall I have done with any other audiobook… ever.
