tries to be complex but ultimately ends up pitiful.

the main character is so dedicated to defending her pedophile son that she confidently states his victims suffered less than their abuser did. listening to adrianne sit there and listen to her son admit what he’s done and what he intends to do and then saying what she says so confidently, like of course we the reader know that these little girls “will probably not suffer their whole lives, like noah will” made my jaw drop. i wish i could return this. what a wasted credit.

a little too over-the-top for me.

i really enjoy the casteel series and going into Web Of Dreams i was excited to learn more about leigh’s life. it falls apart for me when jillian and leigh move to farthinggale manor; no vc andrews protagonist has it easy but leigh is put through a really nasty ringer of cruelty that is often difficult to sit through.
while i appreciate the narrator’s time and voice for this story, she often is very whispery in places that don’t call for it. additionally the production is often lacking, i needed to adjust my volume on more than one occasion.
