Historia
In this latest adventure (following Pigeon Post, winner of the Carnegie Medal), the Walker family has come to Harwich to wait for Commander Walker's return. As usual, the children can't stay away from boats, and this time they meet young Jim Brading, skipper of the well-found sloop Goblin. But fun turns to high drama when the anchor drags, and the four young sailors find themselves drifting out to sea - sweeping across to Holland in the midst of a full gale!

They had a quandary and I like how they didn’t play it down. And how they would make a decision and then they would second-guess themselves and they were discuss their decisions.. They were in a tough spot and the author wrote it. It’s very entertaining to read how they handled everything that happened.. well done

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

In John Scalzi's re-imagining of H. Beam Piper's 1962 sci-fi classic Little Fuzzy, written with the full cooperation of the Piper Estate, Jack Holloway works alone for reasons he doesnt care to talk about. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorps headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporations headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor, prospecting and surveying at his own pace. As for his past, thats not up for discussion.

An excellent blend of humor and drama occasionally, you’re on the edge of your seat. There is certainly an opportunity to have need of a hanky. Good dialogue.

But Shining is now something more than human. And the scrapyard is no longer just a scrapyard, but a place full of secrets. This life she has built, while empty, is predictable and safe. Historia
In Jasper Fforde's Great Britain, circa 1985, time travel is routine, cloning is a reality (dodos are the resurrected pet of choice), and literature is taken very, very seriously. England is a virtual police state where an aunt can get lost (literally) in a Wordsworth poem and forging Byronic verse is a punishable offense. All this is business as usual for Thursday Next, renowned Special Operative in literary detection.

The climax and end are worth the wait.
Revisado: 05-22-24
Most of the book is setting the stage for the main events….(this is true of all books, but in other books the story path is more obvious)
This story has lots of little pieces ( interesting pieces) that pleasingly become part of the story and less of side story.
For a long time I wanted the story to get on with its self. I am so glad it didn’t hurry up and get to the point. The story was good and I was enjoying it. But I am a fan of “ Jane Eyre” and I wanted to know how “Jane Eyre” played into this story. It was worth the wait.
Enjoy the story at each moment. Don’t spoil it by being impatient….like me.

Revisado: 05-14-24
The entire book was quite engaging, full of intrigue. it was quite painful to hear of the abusive power by members of the East Indian Company, and the number of people who are willing to let the corruption go on with all sorts of justification that we weren’t justified
