Historia
Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: The Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry, and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption.

So goooood, the series, the performance, just be prepared for some nasty stuff, no shiny heroes here.

Historia
The Mongol army led by Genghis Khan subjugated more lands and people in 25 years than the Romans did in 400. In nearly every country the Mongols conquered, they brought an unprecedented rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization.

Interesting, maybe a little one sided
Revisado: 05-31-21
Very good, very interesting book. My one complaint is that the author is very focused on the positive aspects of genghis khan and the mongol empire, and somewhat glosses over the millions of people killed in their conquests. The mongols brought a lot of amazing changes to the world but the people getting mowed down by arrows or having their cities destroyed might not have been such big fans.

Historia
Most of us take for granted the features of our modern society, from air travel and telecommunications to literacy and obesity. Yet for nearly all of its six million years of existence, human society had none of these things. While the gulf that divides us from our primitive ancestors may seem unbridgeably wide, we can glimpse much of our former lifestyle in those largely traditional societies still or recently in existence.

Good but not as good
Revisado: 10-23-16
I'm a big Jared diamond fan and have really enjoyed all of his works. I enjoyed this one as well, but I didn't find it as compelling as some of his other books.
