Historia
Jenna’s parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life. Minutes later, Jake’s in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it’s no use. He doesn’t know that someone in the crowd has jabbed her with a needle.

JD Robb (Nora) Writes Another Winner
Revisado: 01-25-24
In fact, Nora Roberts' writing keeps getting better. Susan Erickson is still in top form providing distinctive voices for each character. The only criticism is the music. It is inappropriate to the story and depresses the ending, which the writer and performer finished with aplomb. Boo-Hiss MacMillian. You should know better. Ditch the music altogether.

Historia
An acknowledged classic of the heroic Puritan tradition, and a founding text in the development of the English novel, The Pilgrim's Progress has inspired readers for over three centuries. The story of Christian, whose pilgrimage takes him through the Slough of Despond, Vanity Fair, and the Delectable Mountains, is full of danger and adventure. Together with his trusty companions, Faithful and Hopeful, he encounters many enemies before finally arriving at the Celestial City.

Pilgrim's Progress Parts 1 & 2 in Original English
Revisado: 03-13-22
Because Part 2, the story of Christiana, Christian's wife, is equally important, I created this review just to clarify this version. The narrator is excellent making the antique English easy to listen to with his inflection and smooth delivery. God inspired John Bunyan with this story to speak to all of his children. Enjoy.

Historia
The Man on the Mountaintop tells the story of Holy Man Joe, an ageing and unassuming man who lives in a hermitage on top of a mountain. During the summer months, thousands of hopefuls line the path leading to his door, seeking his wisdom. From bombastic, wealthy nobles intent on cheating their way to the top to drunkards who gradually build the physical and mental strength they need to quit their addiction, The Man on the Mountaintop is a rousing tale full of humour, wit and life lessons.

Absolutely Perfect.
Revisado: 02-05-19
This Audible Original has it all: a dash of mystery for intrigue, sound advice from the sages of the ages, the big, real, kind of love story that makes one happy (because we are treated as if we are holy), vignettes from the witnesses, all tied together with the twine of a journey by an outstanding cast with impeccable timing. With each listen, I discover more depth and delight from The Man on the Mountaintop.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

I am embarrassed to admit how many times I have listened to "The Stand" in its entirety and in those parts that show the greatest redemption. Even the flaws are well-crafted.

Historia
Ever since he became a Christian at the age of 40, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the complete Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor.

Divine
Revisado: 08-02-18
David Suchet could read a phone book with gentle authority, but what he brings to the NIV could only be described as divine. He brings the gift of a talented believer channeling the Holy Spirit. Divine.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Disturbing...
Revisado: 08-02-18
This is not a criticism, it is just that "The Outsider" is really disturbing and I couldn't deal with it right now. The writing and narration are excellent; Stephen King is also a master mystery writer and Will Patton delivers the narration intuitively. Maybe the disturbance I feel is actually a testimony to the quality of the writing and narration.

Historia
Lieutenant Eve Dallas has plenty to be grateful for this season. Hosting Roarke’s big Irish family for the holiday may be challenging, but it’s a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood. Other couples aren’t as lucky as Eve and Roarke. The Reinholds, for example, are lying in their home stabbed and bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. Those who knew them are stunned - and heartbroken by the evidence that they were murdered by their own son. Jerry hadn’t made a great impression on the bosses who fired him or the girlfriend who dumped him - but they didn’t think he was capable of this.

Historia
It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks, complained about the boss, maybe hooked up with someone for the night. Until something went terribly wrong. At first it was just a friction in the air. The noise intensified. The crowd seemed oppressive. Some sharp words were exchanged; some pushing and shoving. Then the madness descended. And after 12 minutes of chaos and violence, 80 people lay dead. Eve Dallas is trying to sort out the inexplicable events. Surviving witnesses talk about seeing things - monsters and swarms of bees....
