I'm New Age, but some of these were just too sweet or too boring. A few of the stories made me cry with joy or sadness. Not worth the time. I quit halfway through.

I loved it.
It was fun to have short stories with great endings. Some of the stories were so good, I listened to them over again. All of the stories were uplifting.

Historia
Alan Gordon, a psychotherapist and the founder of the Pain Psychology Center in Los Angeles, was in grad school when he started experiencing chronic pain and it completely derailed his life. He saw multiple doctors and received many diagnoses, but none of the medical treatments helped. Frustrated with conventional pain management, he developed Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), a mind-body protocol that eliminated his own chronic pain and has transformed the lives of thousands of his patients.

Hopeful
Revisado: 05-21-23
I've had a small bit of neuroplasticity training and it seems to work for very brief moments. This book gives me hope, as Alan Gordon is the first to give actual step by step actions to take and use for life. Even my back surgeon agrees I should try this before another surgery. He said he has many patients with MRIs like mine who go happily through life without pain. I was so happy to hear a surgeon think this is a very viable way to relieve pain. Maybe there is hope for our medical community being open to more wholistic treatments. I will listen to this book over and over until I fully understand the process. Thank you, Alan Gordon, for this gift. I am wondering how to access the PDF that accompanies the book.

Historia
One day, on her way to a date, Isabella Huffington gets hit by a bike. What begins as a concussion with a diagnosed recovery time of seven-to-ten days becomes more than two years of debilitating pain with no apparent end and a string of unhelpful doctor and specialist visits. In the wreckage, jobs are canceled. Leases are broken. There is no second date. What’s left is Isabella, her body, and her pain. Because the source of her pain cannot be located within the body, she is told over and over that her pain is psychosomatic. And Isabella believes it, over and over.

Horribly Depressing
Revisado: 12-30-21
I don't like to give negative reviews but in this case it's necessary. While I feel for Isabella, this is not what I needed to hear. I'm in pain on a daily basis and work on healing on a daily basis. Depression looms in my life as well. So, I sympathize. The whole book is narrated with a close to monotone voice which further enhances the negativity. I even fell asleep a few times. Usually, if that happens, I scroll back to hear what I missed. In this case, I missed nothing. Because each chapter is so similar to the previous chapters, you might as well go from the first two or three to get the gist on to the ending, which is short and barely eventful. The one positive is, I enjoyed the famous quotes along the way. I hope Isabella 's life continues to become more pain free and she achieves great happiness! This book added nothing to my happiness and is a complete downer for me. Now, back to dog stories and mysteries for me!

The best book I've listened to in a long time!
Revisado: 12-19-21
I love long books because I get so involved that I don't want the story to end. Getting lost in the character's lives makes me want the story to continue. Susan Wilson's books are certainly on the top of the list when it comes to that feeling. So, this longer story fulfills that need. Of course, an animal, especially a dog, makes it better. A dog who communicates is even better yet! Psychic powers also intrigue me, so this book called to me so much that I listened to it in one day with a short nap before the ending. So, if animals and psychic intuition intrigue you, you won't be disappointed. Spoiler alert! No animals die!

Historia
From the very beginning, Orson was a misfit. Like all border collies, he needed to work. But since there weren't any sheep available for herding in the New Jersey suburbs, Orson instead tried to corral school buses, garbages trucks, and skateboarding kids. So Katz pulled up stakes and moved to a farm in upstate New York. There, Orson improved dramatically - until the day he started nipping people. The nips soon turned to bites, forcing Katz to face an incredibly painful decision.

Spectacular
Revisado: 12-18-21
Other than some repitition, the story is wonderful. I dearly loved Orson as well as all the other animals. It is impressive, the degree to which the author loved and worked with this beloved dog. I totally understand his commitment/contract and his decision. The narration is superb!

Cute story
Revisado: 12-17-21
it took me a while to get used to the narration. It was read with one voice, no changes in gender or character. It didn't take too long to get it, though, as the reading was done well and her inflections made the telling of the story interesting. The ending bothered me some, but it was Okay.

love the story

all is good except the narration of Abby's thoughts. they are overenunciated and plastic. I love the story, so although it took a while to get used to the narration, it was worth it.
