I love the humor, mystery, romance, and paranormal elements!

I love the work of author, Molly Harper, and voice actress, Amanda Manconi. When I need to smile, I listen to this book or one of the other by Ms. Harper. Her books often include characters who find a place, community, and friends they have always needed.

Excellent Traditional Mystery With Well-developed Characters

The background music was very distracting.

I couldn't get past the distracting background music. At time the volume of the background seemed equal to the narration. The narrator's voice was pleasant.

The female narrator was excruciating.

Listening to the female narrator was an excruciating experience, and I could not listen beyond the first chapter. I found the protagonist unlikable.

Great Content with unsatisfactory narration

After hearing an interview with Gail Carriger about her book, The Heroine's Journey, I was very excited to purchase and listen to the audio version during my work commute. However, I was deeply disappointed by the slow, text-to-speech app sound of the narrator. Even when I set the speed to play the book at a faster speed, I found the voice performance unbearable. Ms. Carriger's book is excellent, and I suggest you buy a print version. I returned the book.

Another adventure in Mystic Bayou

I am a Molly Harper fan and an Amanda Ronconi fan so I was thrilled to see this book released on Audible. Revisiting the town and characters was just what I needed to manage my stress. Love. Mystery. Finding home and chosen family.

Fun Creative story with great characters!

I am a Molly Harper fan, and this book did not disappoint! The book features Harper's wonderful humor and a smart, assertive female protagonist. I enjoyed the character development and the personal journeys of the male and female protagonist. Moreover, I was unable to guess the identity of the bad guy, but everything made sense. The voice actors gave an excellent performance.

Love the emphasis on the mental & emotional

Louis Penny writes traditional murder mysteries that emphasize the emotional and mental while still fully including the physical and forensic aspects. The investigations are psychological journeys reflecting the minds of the investigators and the suspects. I immensely enjoyed the journey in A Better Man. I appreciate Penny putting domestic violence in the spot light for discussion. Furthermore,
Penny's character development is artful and dimensional. My favorite character is the small village of Three Pines. Chief Inspector Ganache is a close second.
