The premise is strong and fit the description.

There is a great deal of variety in the stories and characters making this a good all-around collection.

I was picky with which stories I actually wanted to hear and was thankful that there was enough content to allow me to skip scenarios that I wasn't interested in.

I thought the overall performance/narration was just okay. The sound quality is good, the voices just didn't appeal to me and I felt like the readings could have been a lot better.

I agree with another reviewer's criticisms of the introduction. It's awful and completely unnecessary. If I wasn't committed to reviewing this title, the intro would have been enough to stop me in my tracks. I would suggest skipping the first 16 minutes by jumping to Section 4 using the chapter select.

This title was worth the time spent listening to it. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the premise/genre.

I'm looking forward to a future collection.

I really enjoyed this story. Alesa's writing style is lovely and to the point. The premise was strong and fit the description.

The sound quality was good. The narration was down-to-earth and Alesa's voice added a unique charm to this title.

This title was well worth the time spent listening to it. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the experiences of an American living abroad, of a traveling teacher, or to anyone who is interested in expanding their cultural viewpoint.

I'm looking forward to more from this author in the future and I hope that she continues to narrate her own work (Please note that it's very uncommon for me to recommend titles where the author also narrates).

A wonderful reading experience for those interested in stoic philosophy. This was an excellent follow up read to Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.

The narrator, Greg Douras, was perfect for reading this. He was clear and his tone was appropriate throughout.

This was worth the time spent listening to it. I have to highly recommend this one. Epictetus deserves more recognition for his work and a special place in the spotlight of stoic thought. This title was very refreshing and insightful. I will definitely be looking for more from this author/narrator duo. In addition, I would also recommend Letters From A Stoic by Lucius Seneca and also voiced by Greg Douras.

Any additional comments?

A very short read that kept my attention throughout.

I thought the dialogue between characters was very good and funny up until the ending. The ending was fast and rough - a total shift in tone that shook the fun from me.

The narrator, Peter Lerman, does an awesome job voicing the characters. They were very funny and he brought them to life.

What did you love best about A Stranger's Kindness?

The characters are very human and feel true to life. All of the main characters (with the exception of the Schmuck) are very likable and have great personalities.

This story is very uplifting. I could see it as being inspirational to people trying to heal from sour relationships or anyone needing a little bit of chicken soup for the soul. That said, I am very confident that most anyone would enjoy this title and especially if they're looking for a well-written and fun romance. The writing really struck a cord with me from the beginning and I'll admit that I did tear up a couple times while listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's too hard to choose. They all have their merits (except the Schmuck - screw him).

Which scene was your favorite?

There are so many good scenes! One that made me laugh was when Mark takes Gina and the kids to meet his inquisitive grandmother.

Any additional comments?

The narrator, Courtney Parker, does a fantastic job reading this. I don't think they could have cast a better reader. Her voice is beautiful and perfectly fits the role.

This was worth the time spent listening to it. I have to highly recommend this one. This title was very refreshing. I will definitely be looking for more from both this author and narrator.

What disappointed you about Casting Gemma?

It was very poorly written. The grammar choice is extremely strange and crude. The whole thing comes across as feeling very immature and unoriginal.

It was almost like the author tried to come up with as many slang terms as possible for specific body parts or actions. "Lady Garden", "Clitty", "Trouser monster", "Playing hide the sausage", etc.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narration is not good. He also wasn't the right choice for this title, but I doubt anything could redeem it. The book seems to have been written from the perspective of a British man, but the narrator isn't British leaving a big gap with the dialect. It's also off-putting to have a story like this voiced completely by a man.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No. There are a lot of very good titles in this genre that would be more worthwhile.

Less About Body Awareness And More About Energy

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. There are a lot better guided meditations out there than this one.

Any additional comments?

The narration was just okay. It didn't feel particularly calming in comparison to a lot of other people reading guided meditations.

I didn't like that this meditation focuses very little on actual body awareness and more on magic light energy that travels all around the world, "...to places you've never seen and to ones that you have". I've never heard a guided meditation that utilizes this visualization tactic so poorly. Usually it's used to help a listener focus on particular areas of the body, not visit volcanoes and oceans or have an effect on people who aren't consciously aware of it around the globe.

The meditation comes across as very unfocused and I'm not sure what "new truths" I would have learned from this.

Usually with guided meditations they refrain from using overly specific descriptions to make them more accessible to people. An example of this would be like referencing your stomach instead of saying "solar plexus". This one makes that mistake several times, and with such little focus on your actual body I can see how that would totally stop someone's immersion.

The very early reference to emotional stress in reproductive organs left me (and anyone I've shared it with) with some unresolved questions.

Would you listen to An Unbidden Visitor again? Why?

Yes. This title is worth sharing with others.

What about Elizabeth Klett’s performance did you like?

She was clear and had good pacing. I really liked her accent! She's very easy to listen to!

Any additional comments?

I really liked this short story. It's well-written and to the point. The premise was strong and it fit the description.

There are times that made me feel how tense the situation was and I could empathize with all the characters throughout.

The narrator, Elizabeth Klett, did an excellent job reading this title. I think she was the perfect choice for this role.

The sound quality was good.

This title was well worth the time spent listening to it. I would recommend this to anybody that likes supernatural short stories.

I'm looking forward to more from this author/narrator duo.

Would you listen to Heartbreaker Episode 1 again? Why?

Yes. This was a very strong first episode and I am looking forward to sharing it with friends.

Which scene was your favorite?

The ice cream scene at the beginning.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It's short and sweet.

Any additional comments?

I thought this was an exciting and funny title. I was smiling in amazement for a good portion of the book. Eris is something else!

The pacing is just right.

The narrator, Kathy Vogel, was perfect for reading this. I really hope she does all the future episodes involving Eris.

This was worth the time spent listening to it. I have to highly recommend this one. This title was very refreshing and humorous. I will definitely be looking for more from this author/narrator duo. I am really looking forward to future episodes.

What did you love best about A Quail in the Family?

The descriptions of how Peep and friends would go about their day and how much the family truly cared about them.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Peep lectures the kids for hanging on the fence.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book is just lovely. It reminded me of a pet my family had that was beyond wonderful. In that sense it can be a little bit of a tear-jerker, but it reminds me to hold dear all the good memories I have.

Any additional comments?

The narrator, Pete Ferrand, did an excellent job and I feel that he was the perfect person to read this title.

I thought it was so interesting that William didn't want to deal with the bureaucratic red tape involved with keeping a wild animal, especially one that had become part of the family. That chapter of the book really spoke to me.

This was worth the time spent listening to it. Highly recommended.
