Historia
Ten years ago, six friends went on vacation. One made it out alive... In that instant, college student Quincy Carpenter became a member of a very exclusive club - a group of survivors the press dubbed “The Final Girls”: Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout's knife; Sam, who endured the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape the massacre at Pine Cottage. Despite the media's attempts, the three girls have never met.

Liked but didn't love
Revisado: 10-02-22
Final Girls was a solid thriller that I felt wore on it's welcome a bit. I think a decent amount of the book could've been trimmed down to make it flow a little better. There was a lot of what I would describe as filler within it.
That's not to say it's a bad book, I did enjoy the story quite a bit, it just drug on at points.

A fantastic mystery with a lot of heart
Revisado: 10-02-22
Daisy Darker told a tale
That is sure to grip you without fail
It's about a family full of lying
On Nana's birthday they started dying
Try to deduce the secret killer
In this excellent mystery thriller
I loved Daisy Darker with all my heart. I had never read a book by Alice Feeney before this but I'll be sure to check out her other works now. I found the plot and overall mystery incredibly engaging and by the end I felt the overwhelming urge to cry, in the best way.
Other reviews have said that the narrator gave away the ending but I didn't get that from her performance at all, maybe I'm just dumb. I thought she did a fantastic job and really brought the characters and story to life
Overall I recommend this to anybody and everybody, this is a book that I'll continue to think about for a long time.

Historia
After barely making it out of the Kettle Springs cornfields alive, Quinn’s first year away at college should be safe and easy. All she wants is to be normal again. But instead, Quinn finds that her past won’t leave her alone when she becomes the focus of online conspiracy theories that claim the Kettle Springs Massacre never happened. It’s a deranged but relentless fantasy, and there’s nothing Quinn can do to get people to hear the truth—not even on her own campus or in her own dorm room.

A superior sequel
Revisado: 09-28-22
Clown in a Cornfield 2 has the advantage of the reader knowing what it is. My biggest issue with the first book is that I went in expecting a cheesy 80's style slasher but instead got something more akin to The Purge, a mayhem infused bloodbath with heavy political themes. It sort of marred my opinion of the book a bit, Frendo Lives does not have that problem. I knew exactly what the book would be when I picked it up and it let me sit back and fully enjoy the story. I wasn't distracted thinking to myself "oh so this is THAT kind of book" and it was all the better for it. I plan on revisiting the first book eventually to see if my opinion of it changes now that I know what it is.
Overall I'd recommend Frendo Lives to anyone that enjoyed the first book.

Historia
Quinn Maybrook and her father have moved to tiny, boring Kettle Springs, to find a fresh start. But what they don’t know is that ever since the Baypen Corn Syrup Factory shut down, Kettle Springs has cracked in half. On one side are the adults, who are desperate to make Kettle Springs great again, and on the other are the kids, who want to have fun, make prank videos, and get out of Kettle Springs as quick as they can.

Wasn't the slasher I was hoping for
Revisado: 09-26-22
Looking at the title, cover, and description I assumed this would be a fun little slasher, I was mistaken. The character stuff was fine, pretty standard YA stuff, it wasn't riveting but I wasn't being put to sleep by it either. In the second half of the book though I was really shocked that it turned into MAGA of the Corn, I didn't hate it but I don't really like super political books, even if I do somewhat agree with the message.
Overall I don't regret spending my money and time on this book, and I'll probably pick up the sequel next, but I won't be rushing out to tell my friends about it either.

Historia
Deep in the heart of Appalachia stands a crooked farmhouse miles from any road. The Morrows keep to themselves, and it's served them well so far. When girls go missing off the side of the highway, the cops don't knock on their door. Which is a good thing, seeing what's buried in the Morrows' backyard. But 19-year-old Michael Morrow isn't like the rest of his family. He doesn't take pleasure in the screams that echo through the trees.

Good book, meh ending
Revisado: 09-23-22
I enjoyed this book though I did see the ending coming from very early on which I guess is a testament to how much I enjoyed the book if that didn't hamper it too much. It wasn't quite as graphic as I thought it would be which I think worked out for it as it reminded me of my favorite movie, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is also not as graphic as one would expect. Overall a great addition to the hillbilly horror subgenre and one I would recommend to any horror junkie like myself.
I will say the narrator had some odd pronunciations at times but as someone with an accent I don't really fault that as long as I can tell what the word is.
