Historia
When Dr. Scott W. Atlas was tapped by Donald Trump to join his COVID Task Force, he was immediately thrust into a maelstrom of scientific disputes, policy debates, raging egos, politically motivated lies, and cynical media manipulation. Numerous myths and distortions surround the Trump Administration’s handling of the crisis, and many pressing questions remain unanswered.

The truth about treating a pandemic.
Revisado: 11-27-21
Scott Atlas, MD, is the most qualified person to speak about Covid 19, the treatment, and the successful and unsuccessful outcomes. His scientific critical research and unrelenting search for facts unearth so many unanswered questions. I am much relieved after listening to his book.

Historia
The 2020 presidential campaign was a defining moment for America. As Donald Trump and his nativist populism cowed the Republican Party into submission, many Democrats — haunted by Hillary Clinton’s shocking loss in 2016 and the resulting four-year-long identity crisis — were convinced that he would be unbeatable.

Disclaimer - I voted for President Trump.
Revisado: 05-28-21
The title of this book says it all. Defeating President Trump was the sole focus of the Democratic Party. All strategy centered around beating Trump. I contend this is why there was a battle for the soul of the Democratic Party. Their actions were motivated by hate of Trump rather than love for our country. This book is a fairy tale. Had I known the Democrats and Biden were such saints, I would have changed my vote. Not.
I am a devout Catholic. The Catholic Church's moral and social teachings require protection for the human embryo, marriage between a man and woman, anti-euthanasia, and other moral evils. Politicians who promote abortion, gay marriage, and euthanasia should be denied Holy Communion. President Biden is a devout "cafeteria catholic."

Lovely, lovely book.
Revisado: 02-28-21
I’ve read many WWII books, fiction and nonfiction. “When We Were Young and Brave,” touches on a seldom written about part of the war—English civilian prisoners of war in China held by Japanese soldiers. This book pierces the heart without any of the violence contained in so many WWII recounting.

Historia
When Mitch Landrieu addressed the people of New Orleans in May 2017 about his decision to take down four Confederate monuments, including the statue of Robert E. Lee, he struck a nerve nationally, and his speech has now been heard or seen by millions across the country. In his first book, Mayor Landrieu discusses his personal journey on race as well as the path he took to making the decision to remove the monuments, tackles the broader history of slavery, race and institutional inequities that still bedevil America, and traces his personal relationship to this history.

Confused. What is this book really about?
Revisado: 12-09-18
I am two hours into this book and have yet to hear anything resembling Southern history. Mayor Landrieu briefly mentions the statues. Then he jumps to David Dukes to liken him to President Trump. I recently finished “Abraham Lincoln,” by Carl Sandburg. And the positive reviews of Mayor Landrieu’s book persuaded me that it would be an excellent follow up and hold further insight into our racial problems today. I have already listened to numerous books on President Trump. What a disappointment Mayor Landrieu’s book is because it was not what I expected.

Not a psychological thriller.
Revisado: 12-04-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A fifteen yearold girl whose mother is a serial killer is telling the story. It's narrative is filled with cliches. We know very little about the characters. More character development or in-depth story would help. A reason to care about the characters.
Has Good Me Bad Me turned you off from other books in this genre?
I will be hesitant to try other books.
What does Imogen Church bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator makes the book much better than it really is. She is why I struggled through to the end.

Soldier Girls puts both wars and our military involvement in human terms. It is triumph and tragedy. I hope the twenty something's will read this book to gain insight into the distance between those making life and death decisions and those who carry them out. Also the reader had the right tone for the story.

Historia
For decades environmentalists have told us that using fossil fuels is a self-destructive addiction that will destroy our planet. Yet by every measure of human well-being, from life expectancy to clean water to climate safety, life has been getting better and better. How can this be? The explanation is that we usually hear only one side of the story. We're taught to think only of the negatives of fossil fuels, their risks and side effects, but not their positives.
