A top audio book
Revisado: 02-11-15
To identify me a little bit, I am a audio book listener, avid, with a library of over 300 bucks. This book, ranks within the top five books. This book is very educational, if you know very little or nothing of the history of south Africa. It is written on a higher level of intellect, the stimulating your intelligence. Thrown in to stimulate the emotion, there are some romantic parts. These parts though cover very little sexual content.
I listened to this book 1st, for it was on sale. It is a follow-up book to the first in the series, namely,' the power of one'. I will be listening to this first book within the next couple days.
I give the narrator the credit for making this book and even more enjoyable listen. Top of performance. Great accent! Well done!!
Asked if I would recommend this book, I would to those that are interested in historic novels, novels on south Africa, with some romance throw in with very little gratuitous sex.

Any additional comments?
This book I simply listened to in order to see the movie and understand what is to happen. I did not enjoy much the first and less so this one. Why? This is a continuing saga of a civilization that condones child murder. A supposed situation that perhaps awaits us in the future. I find it hard to believe is any scenario where that could be. The book does not developer except superficially the characters. This is indeed a teen novel series.

I found this listen entertaining though not engrossing. The author presumes that things are understood without explanation. I find it questionable the abilities of the actions by those in the book. The book highlights the good though of the Muslim and Islam people, something lately misunderstood.

Historia
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

This book I first saw in movie format. Was a compelling movie but with that said the book far out does it. In the book the thoughts and reasons tell a compelling story of organized crime. Their feelings and thoughts as to their justifications of actions. A bit sensual, as becoming this world, but needed to color the novel in credulity. I enjoyed the story along with the history and learning that the novel entailed. I would recommend with the caveat as to the sensuality and violence within the pages. Not for those that avoid these readings.

X- Men of the future
Revisado: 10-21-13
What did you love best about Steelheart?
I have read or listened to all of Brandon Sanderson's books. I find most of his stories distinctive and original. In this story though I felt it a futuristic xmen story line. There are creatures of distinct powers and they go about kicking the normal unfortunate humans around. Ones that are invisible, or fire-throwers ect. There is one or two supposedly invincible. The mutants of xmen kept crossing my mind. A bit disappointed of not being completely original as in his other works. Though in itself it's a good story and lead in to a possible series, I await more eagerly the continuing series of Brandon's other works.

confusing
Revisado: 07-10-09
I have an extensive library of audio books. I do not want to qualify myself as a book critic but in my opinion this book is quite difficult to follow. I listen to books as I drive 8 hours daily so I am usually able to follow the flow of a book. None the less with all the new and strange names associated with this book I was unable to follow even after 3 new starts of the narrative. I have thus given up for now. I suggest if you wish to listen to this book perhaps keeping notes of the names and their association to other characters would enable one to follow. I will say that the reader is excellent and I enjoyed for as long as I listened how her voice changed with the characters. She seemed to empower and added visualization through her narrative, Well done Anna Fields

Sexually explicit
Revisado: 09-15-07
I listened to about 2-3 hours of the audible and though I like the story line and the narration I find the sexual overtones and comparisons to life offensive. Because of that I reject the book. I am not a prude and read / listen to many books and even those with these themes; for it seems that most books contain to degree sexual material, nonetheless this one goes beyond the mark. Audible was good at refunding credit and I herald their customer service. I just wish there was better reviews before purchasing.
