Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

This book was captivating from the first instance. It builds and keeps your interest. The imagery is fantastic. I like it so much I am getting a physical copy as a gift. I liked it so much that I started it over from the beginning.

How much control do we have over love? Much less than we like to think. All that mystery, all that poetry, all those complex behaviors surrounding human bonding leading to the most life-changing decisions we’ll ever make, are unconsciously driven by a few molecules in our brains.

This book was full of great studies and explanations. It had examples and really opened my eyes to the aspects of attraction that pull us one way or another. It was honest and unbiased.

Strange
Revisado: 01-21-18
Would you consider the audio edition of The Handmaid's Tale to be better than the print version?
yes. It was easier to listen to and gain interest.
What did you like best about this story?
Its ending was phenomenal. The way she brought it in as a study of the past and the social structure made to compensate for the impending tragedy was brilliant. It also was settling as a context for what was a strange society.
What does Claire Danes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her voice was cast perfectly. The timber of her voice made you feel her pain and despondency while still suffering the restraint of the situation for the handmaid.
If you could take any character from The Handmaid's Tale out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Offred because he seemed to have the greatest insight into what was going on and why. He still seemed to have the ability to honestly account for the desires that grip us all.
Any additional comments?
Worth the read or the listen very emotionally involving.
