A Slow burn, but the ending was cinematic
Revisado: 02-13-25
The beginning was a little slow and boring; however I really enjoyed the murder mystery, the ghost hunting, and the fight just before the end

Do vampires visit the dentist? Fangs, after all, are one of the vampire's tools of the trade. "Hello Doc. Got a little job for you." So fascinated was Dr. King at the fangs protruding from the horrible mouth, that he failed to hear the stranger's words.

Your comments on how punk is similar to transgenderism
Revisado: 09-06-24
I liked your review abput The ABC Special where a kid goes punk but still acts decent. I didnt like how you compared that to Transgenderism which is not just an aesthetic and which is destroying people's lives. Anybody who "transitions" is mentally ill and children should be ptohibited from doing it. I dont think anybody should do it; but if people feel they must then they should finance everything themselves. Neither The Government nor Insurance should pay for it. Men and boys are male, women and girls are female; and neither can switch to the other. Its physically impossible. Feelings dont determine your gender.

Very descriptive and cinematic
Revisado: 06-12-24
Almost every chapter has very descriptive passages regarding sexual relationships between characters. I could have done without that; one chapter has a gay couple. No sex is described between them; but it is made clear they're a gay couple. I loved The parts that weren't about relationships between the characters though. It was very moving and thought provoking

More weird than anything else
Revisado: 08-30-23
I thought the story was interesting, but I didn't get the end where he encountered multiple puppet imposters of his grandpa and cousin. Also it's not explained how destroying that felt ring which I thought was some kind of heart enabled The Puppets to leave the building and go into the wide world. I enjoyed when the main character talked about moments from The R Street City Show because they were so similar to famous segments from Sesame Street that I can vividly remember. My favorite chapter though was when he was talking about why he wrote the book. Personally I love the Muppets and I'm not scared by them. But his take on them was interesting to listen to

Historia
In April 1982, ethnobotanist Wade Davis arrived in Haiti to investigate two documented cases of zombies - people who had reappeared in Haitian society years after they had been officially declared dead and had been buried. Drawn into a netherworld of rituals and celebrations, Davis penetrated the vodoun mystique deeply enough to place zombification in its proper context within vodoun culture. In the course of his investigation, Davis came to realize that the story of vodoun is the history of Haiti.
