Another great addition to the series, not for audi
Revisado: 12-30-22
I love this series. The length and complexity of the story, the great characters, I really enjoy the whole series and wait for the next installment each time. I also absolutely love the reader, he's such a pleasure to listen to and does a wonderful job setting the scene with the accents.
However. I can't really recommend listening to this one. Because it deals with cyber crime, online gaming, and lots of blogs and commenting and hashtags, it's really really hard to listen to the readout of endless urls, hashtags, and @mentions of endless handles. Really hard and it often goes on for over half an hour. It also makes it hard to focus and I ended up missing this gs because I kept zoning out while the Urls wereall read out endlessly.

Historia
When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, she just thinks he has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine's disappearance than his wife realises. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published it would ruin lives - so there are a lot of people who might want to silence him.

not a great choice for audio
Revisado: 10-19-20
I've enjoyed other Galbraith books as audio books, but in this one there were so many characters and so much going on that it was hard to follow this without the ability to flip back to the beginning to be reminded who was who.

Not a great audio choice
Revisado: 09-01-10
The methods described in this book were enlightening for me and are proving really helpful with our family's new dog. However. As an audio book I didn't think this book was very successful for a number of reasons, not least of which was the narrator. There is something irritating in the tone of the narrator's voice that we all found grating - as if he were explaining things to people who have a hard time understanding. In addition, there are many lists in the book and added resources in appendices that are referred to that can't really be appreciated in the form of an audio book. Great content, but it would be more useful in paper version.

Crosley can do no right despite the best of intentions-or perhaps because of them. Together, these essays create a startlingly funny and revealing portrait of a complex and utterly recognizable character that's aiming for the stars but hits the ceiling and the inimitable city that has helped shape who she is. I Was Told There'd Be Cake introduces a strikingly original voice, chronicling the struggles and unexpected beauty of modern urban life.

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

favorite listen
Revisado: 07-23-08
In three years with Audible, having heard dozens of books while stuck in traffic, this Ken Follett series was my alltime favorite listen. The story was gripping and entertaining, the narrator is great and I was enthralled by this book for the entire 50+ hours. Surprisingly, I liked this sequel even better than Pillars of the Earth.

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

useless
Revisado: 08-13-07
This was terrible. I listened to it before going to Italy and found it useless. Had I been a business man looking to pick up a lovely signorina it might have been appropriate, but the only things they teach are "do you speak English/Italian" "I want something to eat/drink" and "Where is Veneto street?" not really enough to get around in Rome, and no basics about the language or how it is constructed.

Revisado: 10-24-06
People sometimes ask me if I think that I'm missing out by not reading a book instead of listening. This audiobook convinced me that I'm not missing out. Not only could I feel and follow just how well constructed this novel is, but I would have missed out if I hadn't heard this fantastic reading. The accents and voices add so much to the story and really bring this wonderful book to life.
