3/5 stars, Overhyped Litrpg fantasy.
Revisado: 10-28-24
First off, Travis Baldtree does a fantastic job as always. Unfortunately, this series had it's glaring flaws. I've to this series from start to finish and I have to say the first 3 or 4 were pretty good but the books afterwards seems to be stuffed full of filler. Actions scenes lasting seseveral chapters, and the constant chapters about levels and stats. The series picks back up again on book 8 and this one ( book 9) is ok. It seems that almost every Litrpg series is overhyped to he'll and back and usually disappoints. The Primal Hunter is definitely better than the trash He Who Fights Monsters and the Wandering Inn that's for sure. In my opinion ththe Lit rpg genre is just a fade that will probably die in a generation. And I've TRIED to give it a chance. Unfortunately, almost always the writing is second rate at best and in cases like this series it's passable.

Agonizing slog
Revisado: 10-24-24
Could've easily been cut by half. The big boss fight I'd made no longer than 2-3 chapters and the duel just 1-2 chapters. It wasn't epic only a pain in the a$$ to finish. Of course tthere's the repetitive and quite honesty annoying level upgrade bits but that's becoming a part of this genre unfortunately. This series had so much potential but sadly it's overhyped.

Historia
I’ve always wanted to conquer the Big 5 dungeons ever since one of them took the life of my father nearly fifteen years ago. Nobody ever said the Path of Progression was easy, but my burning desire to dive can’t be quenched. I just never thought I’d be prohibited from getting a diving license just because I tried to help a bratty blonde girl get hers. Soon, we’re joined by a lovely brunette bookworm, and we start diving the dungeon on our own terms. As it turns out, I have a few abilities that greatly increase our chances of actually finishing the Path, leading to a life of fame and luxury.

Weak
Revisado: 10-19-24
It just seems the writer was trying too hard to convince me that the MC is a hero. All noobs/trainees were told they workbench revived if they died during their test ( weak game magic but whatever) and the MC still decided to step in and interfere. Somehow MC team is the only noob team that was wiped, sorry but no that's immersion breaking. These are all college age kids who have no combat/dungeon experience whatsoever and many don't have full teams but Somehow the MC (who's a lvl 5 prodigy btw) sucks more than anyone. Then they make a ber with a rival steam for no reason. To me the author was in hurry to make a litrpg product because somerl reason that's what's being pushed today. Honestly, Dungeon Diving is FAR BETTER than this.

Outstanding
Revisado: 10-08-24
This is my first book that I read/listened to written by Brandon Sanderson. Now I'm going to start the Stormlight Archive. This is a fantastic stand alone novel, from faith, zealotry, love, and hope this story has it all in my humble opinion. Please give this book a chance and listen to the very end!

If his enemies realize he’s disappeared, they’ll undoubtedly fall upon his dungeon like vultures. Worse yet, he’s not alone on Earth. The Silver Knights, the order of the ancient warriors that defeated Lord Sephar long ago, are back and ready to vanquish another Dungeon Lord. Behind them hides an individual who may connect Ed to the mighty Heroes, the unbeatable machines of the Light.

I love this series but there's room for improvement.
Revisado: 10-07-24
I loved this series from the start. With that said, in this book the last battle lasts TOO LONG. Please don't misunderstand me, it was great and someparts were awesome. But it lasted for at least several chapters. Imo, it would've been fine to cut off a couple of those chapters. Of course, stretching out action and conconflict is a problem with most LitRPGs so I it's understandable. And I say this series stands head and shoulders above most. looking forward to the next book!

Historia
After a rather eventful visit to Timbermere, Valdis Wolfbane and his companions have returned to the farm. Their goal is clear: turn their little piece of land into something halfway close to self-sufficient. Thankfully, with a dark elf's nature magic and the cooking skills of a former huntress, the farm's prospects couldn't be better.

Very little happens
Revisado: 09-12-24
This second book was a sleepy letdown. Nothing happens, the only thing of note is when MC collects some ingredients for a potion that is to help is hunter girlfriend. The showdown between Val and a magical monster was lazy, instead of MC defeating it a mage uses fireball and blows it up. Furthermore, in the first book the author wrote in a couple of steamy/ intimate scenes but didn't put any in this one. Which tells me he can't decide if they want a harem fantasy or a slice of life/ " cozy" fantasy.

Historia
Bucky Drake literally just got his managerial position at McDaniel’s, but he’s already been promoted to "Hero" whether or not he's interested in the job. Dragged against his will through a yawning purple vortex by a mouthy catgirl, he finds himself in another world full of vivid colors—and peerless beauties. Cowgirls, lamias, satyresses, unicorns, and even elves of all colors of the rainbow make his acquaintance early and often...and he handles them pretty darn well for a random fast food worker in over his head.

Good story and good smut material
Revisado: 09-08-24
I was pleasantly surprised that this book had a decent story. Yes, there were "levels" and "skills", typical gamer jargon but it was refreshingly light compared to other isekai audio books out there. In my opinion you'll find yourself listening for the story as well as plenty of steamy scenes. I'd place this in my top five for this genre.

Had potential but was fumbled
Revisado: 08-19-24
So I want to say what I liked about the story out first. I fell in love with fantasy civilizations or "races" based on floating islands. The magic system was intriguing and I felt I could really relate with the MC' problem. With that said there's issues with this story I can not ignore. I'm getting sick and tired of fantasy authors inserting game mechanics into their stories. There are a few who can make it work based o what the story is and how it's delivered, this novel isn't one of them. Another glaring issue I have is that every fight scene is way too descriptive. I feel like I get lost in all the data being forced into my brain that I get disoriented in the story. The voice actor was fantastic but there probably should have been another actor for female characters. Not the narrator's fault but he didn't have the range dor it but he did food with what he had. To reiterate I feel that it's a shame the way this story turned out the way it did because I believe I would've loved it if some problems were fixed.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

A possible reaction to Goblin Slayer?
Revisado: 05-08-24
So the performance is great, they did well with what they had and I respect that. About the story, it was interesting and original. Instead of your typical hero using magic and blade fighting a dark lord you have a girl who takes over an abandoned inn which has some magical mystery. The protagonist has to struggle every day without technology in an alien environment. Now here's my issues with it; when the writer goes into the protagonist mental struggles/trauma they're trying too hard. Meaning the mental episode is drawn out to a rediculous length. Next is trying to stamp modern morality on a fantasy world. It's killed or be killed and I'm sorry a girl from the US has no right telling denizens in a fantasy world plagued by monsters that they are wrong when killing in self defense. It broke me out of immersion and the story seems to try to preach to me rather than envelope me. I couldn't make it past chapter 20 and this is a very long fantasy novel.
