Love the story. Anything by Ms. Chiaverini is well researched and a great story. Ms. Saskia Marleveld is my favorite narrator. Her voice floats over the words, dipping between accents effortlessly. So enjoyable. Every time. Thank you to everyone who put this book together.

Anything by this author is good- well researched, great story, awesome narrator. Lots of characters, but the way she writes I could keep track of who’s who. I want to paint a vine of flowers on my wall now. Love this book, didn’t want it to end. I feel like she could write a part II.

Nice, lacked depth

Wanted more. Main character didn’t seem to struggle much, like everything was easy for her, men loved her, wealthy. There was adversity, but something missing. Narrator dripped out words way too much, overly dramatic sometimes. Was overall ok. Good read if u want something light.

There’s always hope

Wow. So powerful. Was afraid it would be depressing, but it was inspiring to the deepest places. This one gets at ur gut. So wonderfully written, as always is w Soraya Lane. Love her books, the history is packed in there. So many rabbit holes to follow when I finish the story to learn more. How strong these characters- but they feel so real. Felt like I was there. And I get when all else is stripped away, where and how one holds on. Or chooses to let go. We must remember what they went thru, never forget.

Fishnets!

Loved this story. Amazing. It follows two women thru WWII and how their lives are changed- women getting jobs, changing roles, and dying nylons. I felt the growth in these women, tackling issues that resonate across generations and cultures. I like that we saw the flaws. It made them more real. Narrators captured the characters well. Some background noises at times but not too distracting. Couldn’t put this book down. Highly recommend. And here’s to the fishnets!

Little overly dramatic by narrator, that made it distracting at times. The story was great, so many twists and turns, harrowing moments. Loved the spy, OSS references. Great book. Highly recommend. Author is awesome.

Amazing story. Amazing women. Reading about build up to hitler’s power is important to. understand cause the pattern repeats in politics today. The parallels are there. But how come we’ve never heard about these women before! Based on real events. So much detail, you really see what was happening as it happened. Not easy material, heartbreaking, powerful. Worth it.
