This audio book kept me wanting to continue listening throughout. I find it interesting to see how the author interprets the prophesies.

Enjoyable and uplifting. Narrator is great too, except for a couple of obvious incidents that didn't get cut during editing ;)

In a heart-racing thriller described as Left Behind for the Hunger Games Generation, Jennie struggles to find a safe place for what’s left of her family. But it seems as though there is no place sacred, no place secure. First the aliens attacked the sun, making it dimmer, weaker, and half what it used to be. Then they attacked the water supply, killing one-third of Earth’s population with a bitter contaminate. And when they unleash a new terror on humankind, the victims will wish for death, but will not find it…

Not for me
Revisado: 04-29-17
Too girlie for me (eg narrator/teen girl talking about 'hot teacher'), somewhat irreverent (eg 'oh my God') and *SPOILER ALERT* it turns out to be a zombie type story, which I generally don't like. Sentence structure/narration was annoying at points (eg. for a while it seemed like every 2nd sentence started with "Jenny did..." and somehow it irritated or distracted me. I think I must not be the target audience for this book. You may like it if you like zombie stuff.

I believe the author intends well, however I believe he's probably regurgitating a lot of commonly held "truths" that are mis-leading. Jam 1:5

Great narration, poor audible file format
Revisado: 02-02-15
What disappointed you about The Listener's Bible NIV?
I loved The Listeners Bible NIV. It's the audible formatting that failed.
Max McLean's narration is very, very good. I have listened to various narrators, and I don't tire of or get distracted by Mac McLean's narration - top notch.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Excellent, top notch narration.
Any additional comments?
Audible's file format is simply not friendly for something like a bible. The bible is a collection of books, but audible provides you with 1 audiobook file. In iTunes on my Mac, I have a generic "Chapters" menu to pick the chapter from - any chapter from "Chapter 1" to "Chapter 1189" - wowzers, how on earth do I figure that out? I can perhaps figure out Genesis and Revelation, but that's about it for me! Terrible Audible, just Terrible. On my iPhone, I get book titles as "chapter names", that's helpful, BUT it is sorted alphabetically, with numeric chapters (e.g. 1 Kings) being at the end, and the first one being ACTS. This makes it hard to navigate to what I want to listen to.
Audible/Amazon - please take note: I don't believe most folks will listen to audio bibles or reference materials from start to finish, or from A to Z, or from 1 to... well you get the point. Please provide SEPARATE files for separate books. So for example "Genesis" should be it's own file. Additionally, these books should be sequenced correctly, so for example perhaps you use the Disc # meta data to specify the sequence. Further to that, each book should then have Chapters within the book, so that a person could easily and accurately navigate to the *book* of Psalms, chapter 117 without taking wild guesses as to where in a 70+hr audio file that might be.
Bah.
In the past, audible provided me with separate "parts" - while that wasn't ideal, it let me create my own playlist with smaller groupings (e.g. "Hosea - Amos") - now I can't even do that any more. Perhaps I'll have to remove the DRM, split out the chapters, and re-combine my own audiobook... btw folks, I've successfully used iMovie 9 to convert iTunes DRM protected bibles so I can fix them for my own listening (had to do this for the Max McLean ESV version recently, which I bought through iTunes and which is published by Audible if I remember correctly). What a hassle though.
Love the narration though, and I love being a able to listen to the bible in when going to sleep or doing mundane chores that are quiet enough, etc.
