Great Sci fi
Revisado: 10-10-18
for me, this book was the perfect mix of Science and storytelling. The action was fun, the characters were likeable, and there was plenty of science to keep it interesting. It was also told in a realistically scientific fashion, allowing me to suspend my disbelief, and thoroughly enjoyed the story.

Good story, but tiresome in parts
Revisado: 06-26-18
I enjoy Brown's stories, but he is so wordy in parts that it takes me out of the story. This was an enjoyable story and the presentation was excellent, but for the length of the book, I expected more action to take place. There was a part about halfway through where I decided not to buy his next book because the story was dragging so much. But I must have enjoyed the rest because I know now that I will likely buy whatever his next one is for. I may go back and reread his two early books (before the religious thing took over all his stories). For me, they offer a better balance of action and exposition. But I'll keep reading the new ones as well, hoping they get closer to his early novels.

Historia
At an exclusive school somewhere outside of Arlington, Virginia, students aren't taught history, geography, or mathematics - at least not in the usual ways. Instead, they are taught to persuade. Here the art of coercion has been raised to a science. Students harness the hidden power of language to manipulate the mind and learn to break down individuals by psychographic markers in order to take control of their thoughts. The very best will graduate as "poets": adept wielders of language who belong to a nameless organization that is as influential as it is secretive.

Great idea, but hard to follow
Revisado: 05-20-18
I really enjoyed the story idea, but found it hard to follow at times. It may have just been that I've been unusually distracted while listening recently, but I frequently found myself re-listening to a chapter and still feeling lost.

Historia
In the back of Adam Farmer's mind, he always knew there was something not quite right about his family. It was more than just the fact that his dad seemed to be stoically going through the motions or that his sad-eyed mother spent most of her time in her room. Somewhere in the recesses of Adam's memory, he recalled a frantic journey in the middle of the night, hurried like criminals onto a bus, staring out the windows at some dark, malevolent thing none of them could see.

Historia
What if you found a way to send something back in time? But not weeks, days, or even minutes back. What if you could only send something back a fraction of a second? Would this be of any use? You wouldn't have nearly enough time to right a wrong, change an event, or win a lottery. Nathan Wexler is a brilliant physicist who thinks he's found a way to send matter a split second back into the past. But before he can even confirm his findings, he and his wife-to-be, Jenna Morrison, find themselves in a battle for their very lives.

Revisado: 07-07-17
I think this is my favorite D. E. R. book yet, and I've read almost all of them available on Audible. The science is fascinating and the characters are very relatable. I actually gasped at one point and had to listen to that part again to make sure I heard correctly. Great book!

Good story, but drags at times
Revisado: 06-20-17
I enjoyed this book and got to know the characters well enough to be invested in their fortune. But I did find parts to be a bit slow or off topic and I expected the various characters to be drawn together more at the end ... But still an enjoyable read with a good mix of pseudo-tech, love, and murder.
