Historia
In the days of pre-Civil War slavery - the unforgettable novel of a shocking portion of our American heritage. The time was not all magnolia blossoms and crinolines. It was more than romance and splendor. It was debauchery and slavery, gambling tables and dens of iniquity. It was murder and forgiveness. It was all the great contradiction of life in a golden era...

Excellence?
Revisado: 07-07-16
What did you love best about Night?
The sincere nature of the of the events regarding ordinary, everyday people.
What other book might you compare Night to and why?
On most levels, I would say 'QB VII'. Both books tell the gripping stories of a period in history that is telling.
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
I like his character portrayal.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, when he realizes that he is the only survivor of his family. The complete loss of everything that he cherished.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the book as it taught me some valuable lesson in life. I especially liked Mr. Wiesel comments on people who knew of the atrocities and stood by and did absolutely nothing. The tragedy that happen and the aftermath.

Absolutely riveting not to mention scary. As a chemist , this a very real scenario and is actually happening in Russia , a substance called knockoff heroin. a substance whose main side affect is the flesh eating bacteria. People who continually use that product have a life span of 2 years.

Very Good Listening
Revisado: 09-13-10
I couldn't stop listening to this book. It was very good. Once again, it was adventurous, some historical content, and just all around enjoyable. I learned about a people who were not treated the best upon entering this country. In fact they were not treated to well in there country. It was interesting to learn their perspective about our customs and culture. I really enjoyed the book and have listened to it two times already.

Extremely Well Written
Revisado: 09-13-10
This book was written very well. The characters in the story are adventurous, lively, and real. The author reminded me of one of my favorite authors, John Steinback in that he did not miss a chance to explain in detail about geographical area, customs of the people, and his very much respect for the people. It was a humbling experience when I listened to this book. I felt as though I were on an adventure. I came away with knowledge about a people on the other side of the earth. I've listen to this book three times so far and will listen many more times to come.

An Extraordinary Life
Revisado: 11-25-09
This young lady is unique and extraordinary because all despicable behavior that humans can inflict, she experienced first hand. It took me awhile to listen to the book, because I could not stop crying. I thought my childhood was awful, this is the most awful case of child abuse, everyone has failed Precious. I am dumbfounded that Precious states in the last part of her book, "I don't hate no one". I really do not know if I could not hate after living thru abuse such as what she lived. She is truly a wonderful person.
