Lovely story, didn’t love the narration

I was not a fan for the first half of this book, but it wove together beautifully at the end. The first half felt clunky and, honestly, pretty dull. But I’m glad I waited it out as the ending tied everything together. The narrator wasn’t quite right for the audible version, and that was part of the problem.

Good but bleak

This was an impressive read. Started out light on an interesting premise then got serious. It was engaging, smart, and funny. But it is also pretty heavy and the end doesn’t hold back. I appreciated that. The performances were definitely not one of my favorites. The accents for many characters were just very off and off putting.
