Historia
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake. A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood. She is kidnapped to The Shade, an enchanted island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

I Have Been Sucked In
Revisado: 03-16-16
Okay, you got me. I am listening.
The book is definitely geared towards Teens/ Young Adults.
I can't say that I am in love with the narrator for Sofia. She's very scratchy but sounds way more mousy than the character is described. But I am enduring. She's not completely horrible but she makes me think of someone way younger than the age of the character.
I agree, that the voice for the other woman was better fit for the main character.
The writing is innocent and therefore depicts predictable character behavior. But in all, I still enjoyed the book and I am on to the second one. It's longer than this book. A little over 3 hours is not much but it was enough to get you hooked.

New Players and New Plots
Revisado: 03-14-16
First I have to say that Morena Baccarin, as much as I love her as an actor, I did not love her narration of this book. It was to mono-toned and she didn't grasp or create different characters for me. She was just the same voice for everyone. That takes away from a book.
So, this book could have been more awesome, with a really good narrator...even two.
With that, this is still a great book, Cassandra still delivers us great Nephalem story lines and new characters. The book introduces several so you know your not going to be stuck on just one plot line here.
What I hate... that I am going to have to wait probably a whole year for the next book. Booo!

Think of something funny here....
Revisado: 09-24-14
Sorry, couldn't come up with a headliner.
This book is a continuation of the relationship for Lanie and Hudson. Now that she's moving in she has someone else set on breaking them up. Of course you don't have to throw stones very far as this series has several characters putting the odds against them, of course.
I thought it was a lot of the same. They get in a fight, they have sex and make up for 5 minutes. Then she's upset again and they fight and have sex again. It pretty much goes like that until the climax of this story.
I think if your looking for a lusty novel that keeps your ears and face burning, this will do it. Great series.

I GOT MY FIX
Revisado: 09-24-14
I know a lot of people will compare this to 50 shades. But isn't that what a lot of people are looking for? Well this series and couple will not disappoint. Seeing as the 4th book in the series is the delicious twist that will set this series apart from the rest.
Hudson. Doesn't his name really say it all? Well the only thing is the author doesn't spend any time making you wonder about him. He's always agreeable always the perfect man. Makes you go hmmmmm? But that leaves you with Lanie and all her insecurities that she has to overcome.
If your looking for sex, this book has plenty of it. Like once, twice.. maybe three times each chapter? I may be exaggerating but there is non-stop lust fest in this book.
The narrator is absolutely perfect for the book and she has my attention from the get go.

Did not like the narrator
Revisado: 09-17-14
Maybe this book would be better if I just pick it up on paperback and read it without this narrators annoying and breathy voice.
I can't even finish the book it's so horrible. There are lot's of men who could have read this book and yet I feel like the worst man was found to do the job. He reminds me of my husband when he makes fun of romance novels and talks in a tone that makes me very uncomfortable.
The main lead is suppose to be jockey and a good looking guy. The voice here makes him sound like a complete perv who spends all his time at a computer screen looking at pictures of underage girls. He totally misses the concept of the character of this book.
Listener Beware! UGH!!
It's like being set up on a date by your parents and it going horribly wrong.

Ready for the next book
Revisado: 08-21-14
I decided to check out this book because a friend posted the trailer for the moving that is coming out next month. The preview you looked very interesting and I think this is one of those books where the movie will really bring the book to life.
The Maze Runner starts off with a very confused Thomas being lifted up into the glade of the maze. When he wakes up he has no idea of what's going on and he's lost all his memories. He's very curious but has nagging feelings that he's been here before or knows more than his mind will let him trigger. He's no longer there a day when Teresa is sent up into the maze as well only she's unconscious. She gives them a message that this is the end of things and 50 young boys slowly start to get picked off one by one by the keepers of the maze. So they want a way out fast, only thing is when they get stung by a "Griever", their memories start to come back and they remember that the outside world is worse than what they are dealing with now.
It's surely to be an interesting series and I am off to read book 2, where we find out more of what's happened to the outside world.

Historia
Born to a prominent Chicago judge and his stifled socialite wife, Mia Dennett moves against the grain as a young inner-city art teacher. One night, Mia enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn't show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. With his smooth moves and modest wit, Colin Thatcher seems at first like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia's life.

Very conflicted about this book.
Revisado: 08-19-14
I want to say it was good but I can't say it was great. I liked it but I didn't like it too, because the book kind of dragged in parts and I listened because I purchased the credit.
It's weird being in a half way spot on a book. I am either all in or all out. But this book was like a maze and I like a good maze. Though parts of it were predictable and I would like to say it never hinted toward the end, but it did. If you pay attention to what her father has to say.
All in all I liked the different character voices but when they each had to imitate the other voice it was a little weird. The detective's voice reminds me of an old classy movie voice.
Something out the Twilight Zone.
I think what annoyed me the most is the mother is a submissive house wife who never stands up to her husband. When she finally does of course all the damage has been done years prior.

Great BOOK!
Revisado: 08-14-14
I love Moriarty's book. They are so close to things that could actually happen. This book just makes me think how adults never really grow up from being little kids. Our drama is just packaged differently.
This was a good book, hooks you right from the start and rolls out the story to you slowly, giving you clues you think you can guess but never seeing the ending.
This is my second book by Moriarty, the narrator was perfect for both, couldn't stop listening.

Juliet finally unravels!
Revisado: 06-27-14
Yes, it takes this whole book for her to finally stop being sad, mopy and blaming herself but it's all worth it because the devil is in the house and he has her heart. Who doesn't like a girl who always falls for the bad guys. But this just means we see the other side of Warner.
I couldn't stop listening, I got it done in less than a day. On to book 3!
It's been a long time since I could brag so much about a narrator. They are so important!! Kate Simses makes this book amazing. I can't imagine how I would feel about this book if anyone read for me. She's perfect. Perfection.
