There really should be more. I LOVED this. He found his life gratifying and peaceful as a butler, but ..there's still plenty of interesting occurrences and I really want to see what's next.

He likes to end every sentence with rising tone? So everything sounds like a question? Sir? This is how I do it?

But the story itself was good, the plot had plenty of twists and it looked like it had a good solid basis for series. Next time I will just read the text copy.

Not a book on meditation.

More a memoir, how we got to the point of needing it, how he quested to find the answer, and how it's changed his life. Less about learning to meditate but lots about how meditation can help.

It was..okay? I finished it, it wasn't that bad, but I felt like the world wasn't well-developed, too much cookie-cutter real-world stuff just renamed.
And the reader wasn't excellent. It's a pet peeve when they voice things regardless of the actual cues, like "groans" and "growls" just sounded kinda whiny.

More creepy and less delightful, darker and sadder than I'd hoped.

The narrator wasn't good either, the reviewer who compared accents to "Eliza Doolitle" was being charitable, these accents were just awful, inconsistent and sounding nothing like ANY British or Welsh accent should've, and since the island is off the coast of Wales, the accents should've matched at least somewhat. I don't know what other narrator to recommend, perhaps Stephen Fry or even Luke Daniels, someone who can do different voices and accents properly without taking away from the story.

Great book!

I loved this story! From the Dark Jewels series, I know Anne Bishop has a knack for rich, deep, well-explored worlds that offer a whole different perspectives on the supernatural, and this is another amazing read along those lines.

But the reader was sadly unspectacular. Maybe I'm spoiled by readers like Luke Daniels and Michael Kramer, but this seemed slow and pauses poorly-timed, and sometimes the emotions in the words didn't match what came out of her mouth. I eventually turned the play-speed up to 125%, that helped some, but it was still a bit stilted. FYI, if you're picky about readers you might prefer to read this one in text.

More weird than funny, interesting view of anxiety

The stories were really more weird than funny, and in places actually somewhat creepy. But the book offers some interesting analyses of anxiety, probably worth a listen for that, but if you're looking for "quirky and fun" look to Jenny Lawson instead.

Funny and meaningful, both!

I loved this book. It was very funny while illustrating all too clearly what it's like to live with an Anxiety disorder. There were so many funny moments, but also sweet moments, sad moments, and lessons learned and shared. Overall a great listen! :)
